Just read on Disneyparks Blog that some of the Renovations to OKW have been completed.

Does anyone have an idea of which areas this has taken place? I'll be staying next weekend in a 1 Bedroom and want to see if I could stay in one of the newly renovated rooms.

Old Turtle Pond Road and South Point areas are completed.

How about calling DVC and having a preference noted on your reservation that you want a renovated unit? That way you've told the room assigner exactly what is important to you and they will do their best to meet your requests.

I did call last week to add a renovated room request to my reservation. The CM I spoke to knew absolutely nothing about OKW being renovated. She put me on hold for a minute to check with someone else, and then just came back on the line and said she'd put it in, eventhough she still didn't know what was going on! My only other request was to be near HH. Not sure if that area isn't complete, what is my higher priority?????? We're going in November, so maybe by then HH area will be done!!

Today they were working on building #14, so it may be finished by November. If so, that is a HH room.

Remember that near HH is no longer a "request" it is a booking category, similar to Boardwalk View and Savannah View.

Unless your reservation specifically states "Near Hosp. House" as part of the room type, it is unlikely that you will get those buildings.

Yes, we were at OKW this weekend (visiting the store) and noticed the construction going on at the buildings in HH. We have a reservation in January and booked the HH location, so hopefully it will be done by then.

I guess I didn't remember to book HH when I orginally made the ressie, because it doesn't say it on my confirmation. I did however call about 6 weeks ago and they said they would add it to the ressie. Is that going to "count " for anything??? If not, not the end of the world :goodvibes

Check your reservation on the website. If, under accommodation it says, for instance, "Ded.2BR near Hosp.House" you're all set. If no reference to "near Hosp. House" is listed under the Accommodation type, you are probably out of luck.

As Chuck commented, it has to be on your confirmation. It is not a request. When I booked my January 2011 reservation the first day was not available at HH. I booked the remainder of my trip and waitlisted for HH for the first day and that was calling for mid January at the 7 month window (a slower time of year). I did finally get it and my confirmation online (and on paper) says DLX Studio - Near HospHouse. If you want this location you can not request it, you will need to waitlist for it.

What section would be best to book and/or request to have a location close to the boats that take you to Downtown Disney? We need a 2 bdrm villa on first floor as son uses a wheelchair. Thanks!

Hospitality House (a separate booking category) is closest to the boats. Also, buildings 62 - 64 (not Hospitality House category) are very close and have elevators.

Please say again which of the buildings along the canal to DTD are the best water views. I'm in a studio in March.

Buildings 45 and 46. We have requested one of those for December.
