Hello,
I considering this as a possibility to rent DVC points to OKW next summer. My questions: in the studio is it 1 bed and a couch or 2 beds? Would LOVE two beds.
How is the transportation? Are the buses efficient? Do they share with other resorts? How long to the parks, etc.?
How centrally located is everything (food/bus stops to rooms, etc?)
How's the pool?
How's the food? Do they have a foodcourt where you can grab a quick bite to eat?
Thanks so much for your help with this. ..you know how it is, always planning the next trip ; )

All OKW studios have 2 queen beds, no sofa sleepers.

Transportation is comparable to other resorts. There 5 stops within OKW, it does not share with another resort.

All the bus stops are pretty convenient in relation to the rooms. If you are located to far away from main check-in to comfortably walk it you can hop on any bus. The hospitality area is the last stop on the route. There is also an enternal bus, usually it is also the DtD/Typhoon Laggon bus, so there may be a wait to get BACK to your room. Or you could walk across the bridge to the Peninsular Rd stop, that is the first stop on the route and ride back to your room.

There is a snack bar near the main pool and another seasonal snack bar at the Turtle Pond pool. No food court. Olivia's Restaurant is very good, a little pricey. Service is relaxed, not speedy.

The only problem I have with the fast food option is that since it's outdoors, and you're going in the summer, you'll be eating in the blazing heat-no airconditioning outside! Of course, that's probably the main reason why we take our food from Good's to Go and walk or drive back to our villa.

Olivias is a GREAT place for a nice lunch. It is air conditioned, but we like the outdoor seating area. It's shaded and great atmosphere. I'm not a food court lover though, so I might not be a good judge of such things. I think food courst are for the value and moderate resorts.

2beds.

Our own bus, we have a lot of stops. MK longest 15 minutes?

Good

How's the pool?

Great

Olivia's is great. Foods to go is good.

Just a note about sleeping space at OKW...we just got back from a short stay in a 2 bedroom--me, DH, and three 16 year old boys. The boys opted to put an Aero bed on the floor in the 2nd bedroom so no one would have to sleep on the sleeper in the living area (they knew I would be up at the crack of dawn making coffee and they wanted to SLEEP!!!) Plenty of room for the Aero bed and it gave ALL of us lots of privacy. LOVE OKW!!!!!

We stayed in a studio for a few nights last year- myself, dh, dd (11) and ds (7). It was nice, but we sure did miss a two bedroom!

My main comment on OKW is about the pool. Our kids loved it! Dd wants to go back this year instead of going to BCV because she loved the pool and the slide so much. But since we bought at BCV, I think we should stay there once in a while.

We all loved OKW, found the transportation to be fine (but we take public transit a lot in the city, our standards might be lower than most). The kids also liked the quiet pools, especially ds, who sometimes gets overwhelmed with "too much" of anything.

Have a great trip.

Julie
