We are renting points and staying at OKW in Jan. 2 questions: As far as room requests, what do you recommend? And when renting points, am I correct that you can use pools at other DVC resorts, except for BLT and BC/YC (Stormalong Bay)?

Only DVC Members can pool hop when using their membership to stay at a DVC Resort. Renters can only use the pool at the resort they are staying at.

But except for storm along bay I've never seen anyone check. As long as you have a wristband no one bothers you. At boardwalk is week and anyone could hang out at pool as long as they have their Disney band.

As erionm said, pool hopping PRIVILEGES are only expended to DVC Members, NOT renters.

Don't mean to sound snarky but it really twists me when people are encouraged to circumvent the rules. One of the reasons we (members) lose perks is due to abuse of the system.

OKW has a great pool. Enjoy it!

As for location, we like different areas for different reasons so I wouldn't get stuck on one particular. And don't let people freak you out about the size of the resort. All buses stop at Hospitality House on their way out of the resort so you can get on any bus to get you to the main pool area.

OKW has great poolS. Each cluster of villas has a pool. So there is a pool in the Millers Road area, the South Point area, Turtle Pond area and the main themed pool. All are pretty good.

Like MinnieGirl said, you can catch any bus from any area to get to the Hospitality House area. And you can walk to the Peninsular Road bus stop (right across the bridge from the Hospitality House area) and catch a bus back to your area. But even the furthest villa isn't that far out.

One thing. If you have someone staying in the living room and you don't want them to enter the master bedroom to get to the bathroom, request a villa on South Point or Turtle Pond. They have a door in the laundry room that goes to the bathroom. The other areas don't have that door and the person in the living room has to open the master bedroom door to get to the bathroom (unless you have a two bedroom and they use the other bathroom which is in the second bedroom).
