Hi. I am looking at booking for 2014. This year we are staying at the Yacht Club but considering the price difference we thought about OKW next year. Free Dining is the same at both hotels. Can you give me your views on where to book?

We love OKW (been 8+ times) – We have 2 DS , one which has ASD so we like the tranquillity of OKW.
It’s a little removed from the parks but is also pretty equidistant from them all. It also has a great boat service to DTD and we love the fact that the buses are rarely packed :thumbsup2

One piece of advice would be to get a room/ block near to the hospitality house ( 11-14 and 23 – 29). Easier to get buses and walk to the main reception and pool;)

We have been 4 times to OKW, do your research, look at photos etc.
We enjoy being near one of the small pools rather than the main one, once checked in we have no reason to visit the hospitality area.

We loved OKW for all except for the noise through the night of 2 things- The buses turning late at night and then early in the morning and the aircon which sounded like a helicopter landing in the room. But we are very light sleepers, and we can't use earplugs due to dd medical conditions - we must be hear her if she need us.

Over all we find the OKW and WL have the nicest settings across all the disney properties. We also enjoyed being able to take the boat to down town for meals at night.

We loved OKW, it's such a pretty, tranquil resort. We stayed in the Turtle Pond area after research on the Dis, and found it to be perfect. The ts and qs are nothing to rave about but as DTD is just a boat ride away, that didn't really bother us.

Just stayed at OKW for first time and loved it. We have always stayed at POR but bought the vacation club this year. Love the fact it's so close to DTD and the boat ride there is lovely. The studio's are very spacious and loved the decor. It's great to get away from the busy parks to a calm peaceful resort. We were 10/15 min walk from hospitality house which was a pain if you wanted drinks etc, but next we will just order more soft drinks and snacks with our groceries! Can't wait to go back

I do really like OKW and have stayed there twice but if it was a simple choice between there and The Yacht Club, I would go for the latter. Being DVC we often stay at BCV and love both the location and the facilitie of Y&BC.

However, if saving money is your objective then OKW is fine.

Obviously OKW is a bit further from the likes of DHS and Epcot but the bus service has always been great when we were there.
If you get a good view and a quiet location, it can be so relaxing at OKW- we have had fantastic rooms with golf course/water views in Miller Road.

We were on Miller Road as well, 5 mins walk max to the Hospitality house and 100 yards from the small pool. quite quiet at the pool compared to the main pool. Lovely resort, however the walking distance to Epcot from Yacht and Beach might sway you. Loved the boat ride to DTD in the evenings.

Love okw this year will be our third visit and its just do relaxing after a day busy at the parks

Most peeps know the trouble we had on our first visit there and okw were great (Disney in general not so great) but anyway okw is fab and we would like to buy into it really as we love it so much
