OKW points availible.

Just got an e-mail from DVC trying to sell me an add-on at OKW. They say there are currently 1900 points availible for my use year (Oct). Anybody else get an e-mail for a different use year ?

Wahhh! I need self-control. No more points, no more points. I'm almost afraid to receive an e-mail regarding available BWV points! I might break down...

Btw anyone know how much per point for the add-on?

Just read the fine print:

"Current prices start at $2,225 for an additional Ownership Interest. Certain limitations may apply to the $2,225 price. "

So, if the minimum add-on is 25 points, then it should come out to $89 per point. Ouch. I paid $62/point resale for ours - I think around $65 net with the closing fees in 2001.

According to my guide, whom I spoke with in the last week or two, it is indeed $89/point for add ons.

Hard sell considering TimeShareStore has them listed for $75/point. Even with the extra closing costs involved, TSS seems the better move.

Unless you only want 25 points. Then with the closing costs, you are adding about $16 per point to the purchase price. I think you would be hard-pressed to find a 25 point contract in your UY with full points for less than $73 per point. Adding-on thru DVC can be a good deal for some.

BTW....I heard DVC has over 10,000 OKW points in their system. They probably want to "sell" these, so they can have more money to ROFR contracts at BWV/BCV/VWL. (I am SUCH a cynic tonight!!! Sorry!!!)

And there is a ton of October OKW points up for resale on the DVC by Resale website (I got there through a link at Allears.net). It looks like someone had about 1300 October points in various size contracts and is selling them off at some good prices.

I'm *thinking* about adding on but don't want to add on until the summer (so I can pay cash). I'm afraid that if I call and ask my guide I'll be too tempted to "impulse" buy!!!

Unfortunately for me, there are no OKW points available for April use year. Waitlist, here I come!
