I know everyone has a preference. We will
have 2 six year old boys. Thanks!

I have not stayed at SSR yet so can't give my opinions yet. But looks really cool and very close to DTD which we love.

OKW is really nice. We really enjoyed it alot. The main pool has awesome pool and slide. It also has a really nice sand area for kids to play also. It is so close to the Community Hall which had lots of fun things for the kids to do. As i said, My kids really enjoyed it and would go back again in a heart beat.

I think they both will provide fun things for the kids. i know that everyone has their preference. My thought is we are at disney!!!

We have stayed at both, and while I think the SSR main pool area is nice, I think it gets very crowded, and I'd probably prefer to have kids that age at OKW where they can enjoy both the sandcastls slide AND the sand play area. Besides that, each neighborhood pool at OKW has play gyms too.

It really comes down to what unit size you are staying in. If you are in a 2 bedroom, it really doesn't matter all that much, but if you are in a studio, then OKW gives you two real beds instead of 1 bed and a pull out sofa. If you are in a 1 bedroom, it's nice to have the extra space at OKW as well.

We have stayed at OKW and loved the pool area. We bought at SSR and love the whole resort. :thumbsup2

You are going to get lots of thumbs up (or down) for each resort. They are both great places to stay. OKW and SSR are so similar that it really is "6 of one, half dozen of the other". Honestly, I'd go with the one with the theming that appeals more to you. If you think you'd like the Florida Keys feel then go with OKW. If you think you'd prefer the upstate NY feel then go with SSR. We've stayed at both and wouldn't hesitate to stay at either again.

your kids are old enough that the zero entry pool at SSR is just not necessary.

so would go with OKW. the pool is wonderful - all the pools!!!

DW, DN(6YO) and I stayed at SSR Grandstand the last week of October. He enjoyed the main pool, looking at the turtles that swim up to the bridge and the Leggo store at DTD.
The biggest hit was the Grandstand pool area. Here is a picture.

DW and I have stayed at OKW and SSR, you cannot go wrong with either choice.

That is the greatest picture ever. It could be used in marketing. LOVE IT.:thumbsup2

Thanks, Cee. Here is my favorite in case kcmyluv needs a little more Grandstand/SSR propaganda for 6YOs.

As I stated before, OKW and SSR are both great.

My preference is SSR. I just have found OKW a little tired looking (if that makes sense) in comparison to the other resorts.

But, we have stayed at OKW twice, and I will say that the room size is an advantage, and I do like the resort, but for some reason it just does not stand out to me like the others. OKW usually saves you a few points as well.

I do agree with the other post - we are at Disney and staying in deluxe accomodations - you really cant go wrong
