Boys weekend of golf,,4 nights,,2bdrm. Playing all 3 courses (18holes)
OKW has a bigger floor plan, but SSR is closer to Springs for after hours.
For those who have done this what would you choose. Or even those who have not.
We will not be going to any parks.
Thanks

For me it's easily OKW. I prefer the tropical grounds, and the rooms are much more updated. SSR rooms look very tired at this point and are due for a big renovation starting later this year.

aoconnor is correct in that the grounds are nicer at OKW and the rooms larger. However, the proximity of SSR to DS would be huge for us if we didn't go into the parks at all. Easy to walk from many locations, Congress Park in particular. Obviously, a golf course sits right there at SSR, so very easy access. It boils down to whether you prefer nicer theming and a more tropical vibe for the times you are back in your room (OKW), or the convenience to dining, bars, and one golf course at SSR. I like OKW a bit more overall, but I would prefer to stay at SSR based on your criteria.

Thanks for the quick response....Being on one of the courses is not huge. But I can see the point. They do pick you up and drive you to whichever course your playing that day. No charge.
How is the walk from OKW to Springs? In SSR we would be in non preferred so bit of a walk. I know SSR well, home resort and love it. Also like the quick service there. Have never stayed at OKW, not sure whats available there beside the one sit down place.

There is a boat from OKW to Springs which is a scenic ride. It is possible to walk, but it's far, about 25 minutes. Then again some parts of SSR in the back are a good 20 minute walk also. Another pro for OKW is it has three real beds, depending on how many people you're going with.

I was told in another post that the boat did not go between the resorts and that you had to go to disney springs to get a boat to OKW

Correct. There are three boats. One for SSR, one for OKW and one for PO. All three go from their resort to Disney Springs and do not stop at other resorts (except PO has two stops).

Did a split stay between SSR and OKW. OKW was our fave by far. Felt SSR was too spread out and that most buildings weren't easily labeled and lack of signs made it hard to navigate.

How hard is it to walk from okw to springs..4 health males..might have a few drinks on way back

SSR 2 bedroom has 3 real beds too, all dedicated 2 bedrooms do. Only the lock offs have 2 real beds. I think BWV is the only resort that only has lock off 2 bedrooms.

Was going to say this about three beds in dedicated SSR two bedroom. That and the elevators and DS being so convenient is why I would pick SSR.

If you are going to be sitting around in the living room, then OKW would be more comfortable. There is a 3 person couch, a 2 person couch, and a chair, SSR has a 2 person couch, chair, then you are on upright chairs or a bench.

If you haven’t tried OKW then this seems like the perfect opportunity to just give it a shot. Especially with a no parks trip, having the extra room in the villa and a nice balcony or patio will be great.

Since you already no and love SSR (me too) give OKW a try for some variety. If you are healthy and haven’t been walking parks all day the walk to Disney Springs is just fine provided it’s not crazy hot. It’s long, but totally doable. Plus there are boats.

We like running and it’s great to run, around OKW, then onto the path, around SSR, onto Disney Springs and back, a nice 5 miler that.

Ya no running here..lol..just golf walking. But from what I understand there is a path from OKW to DS, just not lit at night, so bring a flashlight. Right

and gator repellent. We had gators on the path in between hole #2 and #3 two years ago and that is right by the path if I am not mistaken. Also have seen them on the backside on the par 3 you hit over water not far from PO.

The grounds are nicer at OKW? I wouldn't have thought this?

Well, it has been around far longer so the mature trees, etc do lend credence to that. The golf course runs entirely through it as well rather than just one set of buildings like at Saratoga. They do keep the golf course well manicured. Probably not a huge difference between the two but I would give the edge to OKW.
