OKW or SSR or Treehouse!?

I just made ressies for week before Christmas and have never been more confused about my decision! I wanted BWV, but it was not available so I did waitlist, but reserved a 2 BR at SSR. Now I'm wondering if I would rather have a Treehouse if staying at SSR for about same points, OR move over to OKW for a 2 BR that is larger and has 2 beds in the second BR. I thought SSR would be more convenient for the kids to go to DTD, but OKW is probably just as good. I'm sooooo confused!!!

Of the three I would opt for OKW. We own at SSR but like OKW much more. The treehouses are nice but unless you have a car it can be a bit of a hassle getting around.

Thanks for reply. I've been looking at THV and they look like so remote that you might miss out on "magic". I really want BWV to enjoy all the regular activity, plus the holiday decorations. I may switch to OKW, close to HH, and hope the waitlist comes through.

My recommendation would be to stay somewhere you haven't been already. Looking at your signature, you seem to have covered all the bases except THV. If that were available, you might want to try it. I agree that it would be best if you had a car. You have to catch a bus over to the other SSR area to do a transfer, but the THV bus seems to be dedicated and was the most frequent bus I ever saw, so you won't wait long for it to arrive.

The problem is the THV is a multiple leg route. You fave to get the bus from the THV to the SSR bus stop before you then have to wait for the appropriate bus to get to the parks. Seems a bit much, i own at SSR and i am seriously considering OKW next April, but i will see how BCV are in December that may change my mind.

The other problem with the THV is the rooms are small. The master bedroom doesn't have a king sized bed, only a queen. The second bedroom has one queen bed and the third bedroom has bunk beds. Then you have the queen sized sleeper sofa and twin sized sleeper chair in the living room.

And only two smallish bathrooms.

I'd go with OKW.

My guess is that your only choices are OKW or SSR and not Treehouses since those are usually gone even before 7 month window opens. OKW gives you the much larger room. If you are waitlisted for BWV standard view, your chances of having that come through are very low. Have you asked about AKV? Lots of decorations, and Kidani 2BRs, which have 3 bathrooms, are second largest to OKW, and if you can get dedicated 2BRs at Kidani you will have 2 beds in second bedroom.

I will disagree with everyone else here. THV's are our favorite. If you can still get them (which you may not be able to), that is our room of choice. We request toward the south bus stop, if the shuttle isn't there, we walk to the grandstand and vice versa. I don't think in all reality that it's that much more hassle. For us a trade off is having our own house with no neighbors running up and down the hall, no one above or below you. Have you seen the shower? I can't get my DS 13 out of the shower there, he LOVES it! (OK he LOVES AKV-Kidani's also!)

I think each resort has a hassle going certain places when they share with other resorts. To each their own. We hated the bus transportation at BWV because it seemed if you were going to/from the wrong place it too took forever. Our friends love BWV, we didn't like it.

Anyway, we decided to stay at the THV's at Christmas to be able to fully get away from the craziness of the parks. Oh, and I made my reservations at 11 months out.

We've stayed at SSR, OKW and they're alright. I could take or leave them. I would stay at the THV's or AKV-Kidani every trip if I could!

THV are great for a less crowded change of place, but if you are there for the Xmas holidays I would do OKW as it will be decorated where THV aren't. For Xmas BW is the best though with all the decorating they do in the lobby.

From what I've heard, OKW is the only resort with outlets on the balconies, so you can easily put up a string of your own lights...

If convenience to DTD is important, then I'd stick with your res in the 2 bed at SSR and ask for a room in the Congress Park section (vs OKW of the Treehouses where you can end up MUCH farther away from DTD) and just see if the BWV wait list comes through as a bonus.

Well I love OKW, SSR second and I still pine to stay at the Treehouses! I've tried and waitlisted 3 times for THV and failed miserably. So If you have an opportunity to stay at THV, I say go for it! Personally I don't think you can go wrong with any of them but BWV is a bit smaller than OKW & THV

We stayed in a THV last year with 6 peopl and loved it. Yes, the rooms are a bit smaller, but the high ceilings make it seem spacious. They are very well appointed and very relaxing. The large deck was great.

We did have a car, but when we did try to get around it was very easy. We were lucky to be near both a bus stop (right at the entrance of our unit) and the boat doc. When we took the bus, we found the connecting bus at SSR waiting for us! Can't guarantee those results, but worked for us!

Thanks for all the wonderful advice! I think I am going to switch to OKW 2BR or maybe even GV if available and request near HH. My kids will be 19, 15, and 14 so they can go however/wherever they want. I'm still hoping to get the BW though. Taking my boyfriend, and I think we would really enjoy that area. It'll be GREAT wherever we stay!!! Can't wait
