I am taking my two preschoolers, my hubby, and my parents to WDW in Sept 11 - 19. I have enough points for two rooms at the Dolphin to cover most of the stay but will still need to pay about $1200 in room charges plus tickets, another $1550. Meals estimated about $2,500

With the Disney dine free program I can get a two bedroom villa at OKW with tickets and meals for $5700, about the same price I was going to pay for meals, tickets, and rooms at Dolphin. And then I can save my points for another stay with Sheraton......

The question is....AM I GIVING UP TOO MUCH BY CANCELLING THE DOLPHIN AND STAYING AT OKW?

Please give me your insight...this is my first trip...Thanks!!!!

I have never stayed at Dolphin, but we stayed at OKW in May with our 3 kids -- 6, 4 & 2. It was priceless to have a kitchen and laundry in our room -- made things soooo much easier. We were near the main pool area, and ds6 loved the water slide, while the girls loved the "baby pool". We also checked out the Turtle Pond pool, which looked really nice and more on the quiet side, with a great snack bar right there. (The one at the main pool is, oh, a maybe 50 feet away -- how inconvenient! ;) )

I'd say go for it! Enjoy!

We've done both with our kids (2 and 4) and would choose OKW in a heartbeat. The 2-bedroom villa is huge and gives you tons of room to spread out. You can't beat the convenience of the kitchen and laundry room either. The only thing the Dolphin has over OKW is location. You can walk to MGM and Epcot from the Dolphin, which is great. But, if you're like us, you probably spend a ton of time at MK anyway, so the location difference isn't as important.

Good Luck

We are DVC owners at OKW and I won't trade even the Poly any more. We stayed there in April and it was a disappointment after the DVC villas. But, I have never seen the appeal of the Dolphin or Swan either...Having a kitchen and washer/dryer in the villa, plus the huge size of OKW rooms and the huge balconies is a huge plus for our family.

Wow....there's no comparison for your situation. OKW will be so much more like a vacation for you! Love all that space. Have fun!
