For my next DVC trip I will be there for 12 nites. DD loves AK so I am planning 4 or 5 nites at AKL then it here is where I need your help.....:confused3

This is not going to be a command vacation, resort day and a park in evening; nothing crazy just want laid back. Since I am planning AKL for the beginning of the trip the only resorts that we have not stayed at will be OKW and BWV. DD does NOT want to stay at BWV . So I am deciding between BCV(which we stayed at for 5 nites this past June and liked the location) and OKW.

If you had to pick between OKW and BCV for 7 nights which would you choose? I would be happy with either but really cannot make a decision (of course, availabilty may also help me to decide!!!)

Based on reading these threads, there are sooo many people who looove BCV and just as many who looove OKW. Please help me decide.

Thanks :)

I'd choose based on the vibe you are looking for. BCV is "in the middle of the action." OKW is "get away from it all." It sounds like "get away from it all" is what you are looking for. It also takes less points.

We own at BCV but have stayed at OKW several times. If you want laid back I would go with OKW. It is just so relaxing there.

I love both your choices.

We will be staying on our next trip at both.

For the 7 days we chose BCV, as we are addicted to Storm Along Bay, Beaches N Creme, Restaurants along the Boardwalk and Swan and Dolphin, as well as the Cafeteria services over at the Swan and Dolphin (Picabu). It is the easiest place to get your refillable mug, refilled ! For me I love to be in Storm Along Bay for 3 hours each day, with the pool noodle on the lazy river area. If you think your going to go to Hollywood Studios or EPCOT in the evening more than 3 visits during that 7 day period, and not renting a car, I would pick BCV. It also gives you a lot of dining options whether or not you hit a park each night. Being on top of the Marketplace, is a huge bonus for this DVC location, it is easy to refill that refillable mug like every 3 hours.

For the shorter part of our stays at OKW and VERO we are renting a car.
I will enjoy being back to OKW and doing some additional afternoon/evening park stuff there as well. Their pool is very nice, it is a more relaxed setting, but there is not any decent counter service there, Olivia's is fine for table service. However it is a lot of fun for the kids to go into Community Hall, play ping pong, basketball, tennis, and not open to any cross traffic from any other resort. It is also a nicer place to stay for long periods inside the DVC unit itself. It is my favorite and easiest place to park a car at.
The interior decor is also my favorite at OKW. It is the best place to read a book and sit on the patio, and sometimes depending on views you can watch golfers on the golf course and/or ducks floating in the pond.

So both are great choices.

If I could live at WDW DVC, I would live at OKW.
If I only got to visit Disney for 1 week each year, I would stay at BCV.

Good Luck choosing !

Just a few questions?
When will you be going?
What are others in the family wanting to do?
Where will you primarily be eating? Downtown Disney or EPCOT?...if dining out.
Will Stormalong Bay be an issue?
Movies at the beach?
When you look out relaxing, what do you want to see?
Do you plan on relaxing at the boardwalk? At EPCOT?
You mention the parks in the evening....for that reason, BCV easier for EPCOT and DHS, unless the bus is not an issue.

I'm a little biased toward BCV, but i've heard a lot like OKW. Best wishes on your decision, and let us know what you decide :thumbsup2

Both are great locations we do BCV to walk to EPCOT & DHS. If you rent a car the self park is quite a ways from front door. OKW you can park outside the door, we like this as it is a pain coming back from the water parks on the bus.
Much less activity at OKW
