It's now Wednesday, and our plan for today includes a whole lot of relaxing! Tentative plans are massages for everyone at Slappy Joe's (with the exceptions of A, who is shy, and M1 who doesn't appear interested), a BBQ at the South Pointe pool, and renting watermice at the Contemporary marina. We had Hoop-de-Doo reservations for the 9:30 show. My family has been going to this show for 20 years, and loves every one. We know all the dialogue by heart, and it's fun for us to talk about which Sixbits we liked better, this year's or last years. A has never been to this show, and I can't wait to take her. M1 has decided to pass, as has J&M2, so it'll be just me and my parents and A.

Mom has her massage first at 8:00. Dad's is at 9, and mine is at 10. I have never had a massage before, so I am not sure what to expect. Mom and Dad have raved about them for years though, so I decide I'm game. The massotherapist was very nice. All your clothes come off (thus why A didn't want to do it) and you're covered by a sheet. Only the part she is working on is uncovered, and it's all very comfortable. She has low lighting and incense burning. I had a cough that week (remnant of a cold) and as soon as I got in the room, before I had undressed or anything, she told me to hold out my hand and she placed a few drops of something in it and told me to rub it on my neck. She said it would help my cough. I have to tell you, I didn't cough until I took a shower later that day and washed it off. It was amazing!

My massage is soon over and J's turn is next. We go back to the room and prepare the BBQ stuff (hamburgers and hotdogs). A states she has not seen M1 all morning and has no idea where he is. I leave him a note telling him where we are and we all head down to the grills at the pool. We set up and start grilling when A and I notice M1 sunbathing at the other end. We walk over and ask him if he wanted to join us. He stated, "Not really", so we start to walk away. He then heaves a big sigh and says, "Okay, fine, I'll come". Don't do us any favors, pal. Nothing has been said about the fact that A and I took care of him the night before. We join my parents and J&M2 and lunch is a lot of fun. Mom and I get in the pool, but she gets out soon because she thinks it is going to start raining. Dad then joins me in the pool and we float around for a half hour or so when we hear a loud BOOM. I ask dad if he thinks it was thunder, and he says no, he thinks it was just a bus. I reply that we'll know in a minute, because if mom thinks it thunder she'll be over yelling at us to get out of the pool. A minute or two goes by and we see A coming toward us. Dad says. "You were wrong; she sent A to yell at us." Sure enough, as soon as she gets within earshot she says "Your mom sent me to tell you to get out of the pool because of the lightning!!" We laugh and scramble for towels. By the time we get back to the room it's pouring. M1 has said nothing to anyone and has decided to risk electroshock death and stay at the pool.

Since we now cannot rent boats due to the rain, we decide to go to DTD (which we insist on calling "The Village". A, the young 'un, has finally learned that this means DTD!) to shop. We change clothes and head to DTD, where we luck out with a prime parking space. We spend several hours shopping before heading over to Fort Wilderness for our reservation. Our tradition is to sit in the rocking chairs outside the restaurant and wait for our seating to be called. Beers and mixed drinks are had by all, A and I talk to our respective boys back home, and a good time is had by all. Then they call our show. The 9:30 show is surprisingly packed, and we get seated on "the shelf". We have sat up here before and I don't mind it. The players that come up pay more attention to you as there aren't as many of us. Smilin' Jack begins to play and the show begins. I am very happy when A loves the show and laughs at all the corny jokes. Plus, as she says, Jim Dandy is quite the hottie this year! We have a blast and exit the show tired, stuffed and happy. As well as apprehensive because we have no idea what were going to find in the room.

We get back at almost midnight, and M1 is asleep on the couch. At least, that's what he wants us to believe. As soon as we all disappear into our respective rooms, I hear the TV come on. I am still wondering when he plans to golf, as he only has two days left, but I decide I'm too tired to find out what's going on and hit the sack. Tomorrow Mom and A and I have planned a girls only morning, with boating, a lunch at the Grand Floridian Cafe and resort hopping. Dad is going to AK with J&M2, and we all (the whole party, M1 included) plan to meet up at Epcot later in the afternoon. Little did we know that by the time the day was over, our vacation would be drastically altered.

Coming up: Day 6: boats, the Boardwalk, JellyRolls and disappearing roommates...
