OKW maintenance work?

Hello,

Read on another board of work at OKW in front of Building 62.

Has anyone been there recently and would like to comment? I'm assuming that there is no problems or something would have come up on this board.

We are leaving in a week for OKW.

Maintenance is always ongoing at OKW. In ten years of trips, I doubt we have had one when there wasn't maintenance of some kind going on. Sometimes it is exterior painting, once it was roads (that one caused a bit of trouble), but usually the maintenance isn't an issue.

We were there from 11/5-11/10 and they had the front entrance closed for maintenance. You drove in through the out lane and left using the employee entrance. There were no big problems.

Just got back from OKW and stayed in bldg. 62 for five nights. Part of it was blocked off with the green fencing. The elevator was torn apart and not working the 6 days we were there. I'm not sure if there was other maintenance going on in that bldg.

Most of the main entrance to the resort was blocked off. We were told they were digging up some blacktop and resurfacing. The buses had to enter and exit the resort thru the maintenance area driveway across from bldg. 17. It was a tight turn for some of the buses and we went up over the curb several times.

This must be the last of the resurfacing. They had most of it done when we were there in March, but they had not done the main entrance yet. They were doing the HH bus stop area when we were there, so the bus stop was closed. LOL, here we were, right across the street from HH, and we had to walk to the Miller's Road or Peninsular road bus stops!

We just got back from OKW and saw the work going on in front of building 62. Looking over the fence, they had dug down probably 3-4 feet along the entiree length of the sidewalk, exposing all the pipes and stuff. Some kind of plumbing work I assume.

Returned home on Fri & we were in building 62. No inconvenience for us at all. Elevators were not working but that is the only snag you might run into.
