MTE. They had to have more than just a video of her taking $20 and a suspicion of her stealing more in order to charge her with grand theft. They had to have evidence of her having stolen $300 or more under Florida law to make the charges. Sucks for her to risk her job and any chance at future employment over this.
This is the reason that I prefer to use credit cards, kept on my person, when we vacation. I carry only a small amount of cash and my ATM card for emergency cash. I keep an e-file my Disney GCs and leave them at home. When I'm ready to use them, I transfer their balances to a "blank" Disney GC (that I brought with me for the purpose of paying my room charges) using the disneygiftcard.com website. My small electronics get locked in my carry on bag, which gets locked in a larger piece of luggage. I don't use the room safe.
