OKW lovers...you have won me over!

So after much thought about our December trip I decided three resorts in 6 days was too much for the 8 of us. The thought of packing up everyone's stuff plus all of the babys stuff that many times is nuts! I was super excited when I snagged Dec 2 at BWV, but staying only 1 night is such a tease. Night 2 had us at SSR which was ok I guess. So today I called MS and rebooked us at OKW! We are waitlisted for Dec 4-7 and if we don't get it then off to Jambo we go! The only night not available is the 4th but I'm waitlisting them together so hopefully we get it!

I'm always reading how much everyone loves OKW and I want to experience it myself finally!

Someone told me before to take xmas lights for the balcony. So I'm assuming there's an outside outlet?

Is there any specific area a first time visitor should request? Are there elevators like at SSR?

Is it necessary to make reservations for Olivias?

Yes!

Is there any specific area a first time visitor should request?

We've never been disappointed with any location we've had. We've enjoyed Turtle Pond and South Point near the pool. Check the maps available at wdwinfo.com to see which buildings are located near transportation if that may be an issue.

Are there elevators like at SSR?

No. There are only two buildings that have elevators for handicapped accessibility. They are #63 and #64.

Is it necessary to make reservations for Olivias?

We've never needed to make a reservation.

I'm at OKW resting looking out of my window at the palm trees and beautiful flowering bushes. It's been very hot so I like being inside to cool off. All the windows in these villas make you feel like your outside. We'll be going to Epcot this evening. You will love staying here! Enjoy!

We loved OKW so much, we added OKW points after our first stay there. We own BLT, too, but find we like OKW much better--it's so spacious and peaceful. Our next two trips are booked in OKW one-bedrooms.

DS and I are back from our first trip to OKW. We want to go back in Dec the week before Christmas - I asked if he wanted to try a different resort and he said No Way I want OKW!! After our next trip I think I will seriously consider purchasing DVC.

I'm on the phone with MS right now! I'm moving my first two nights at OKW to my last 2 nights!!! I'm going to keep Jambo right the middle. That way we are going from the smallest villa to the largest villa!!!

The CM has me on hold, I'm not sure what he's doing, but he better not have lost my value villa or I'm gonna cry!

OK.....I got a look at December park hours this morning and decided to drop Dec. 2 & 3. The rest of the week has lots of morning extra magic hours which I love! To keep the points down we kept Jambo and added on Dec. 7 & 8 at OKW! I requested close to a bus stop. Since we are new to the resort I didn't make any specific requests. I think the OKW 2 bedroom is going to feel even BIGGER when we get there after staying in the value villa! I can't wait!!!

Oh yes!! We stayed almost at exclusively at values before purchasing DVC. We're a family of 8 (6 kids) and the two bedroom is fantastic. Unfortunately there are never enough bathrooms when you have five teenage daughters.

I like your OKW plan for going there after AKV, always seems to be better idea to go to larger villa at end of stay

I absolutely cannot wait for our trip to OKW. It looks and sounds like a wonderful place for my family of 5 (me, husband, and "kids" 21-19-15yrs)to stay. I booked 2brm room villa...we will love the space! (Didn't want to stay in just a motel room and be miserable) Our trip cannot come soon enough. We do need to rent a car w/pick up at the orlando airport. Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated!

Hey Janecat! I'm from the Philly area too!

I would definitely say rent a car that has a counter in the airport. We rented from enterprise in the past and omg..what a pain in the neck having to be shuttle to their office away from MCO. I always price our rental cars on the BJs website since we are members. I've always found good deals! Your best place to find good rental car info is over on the Transportation boards!
