Nice... Thank you. I actually don't want to be in the main area near the hospitality house because everyone parks there and it becomes impossible to park near your villa.

I noticed that too the one time we stayed HH.

I believe the only two GVs in the HH category are in the cul-de-sac off of Peninsular; there aren't any in the cluster just north of the HH.

Yes, all the people that want to go eat at Olivia's or want to go to the pools end up parking there and taking up all the parking spots. No, thank you.

I thought there were some even closer to HH according to a map I saw but there's no way I'd want those rooms since it becomes nearly impossible to park in that area.

Made it hard for laundry too. I think the people that drive up for the pool brought their laundry up too. Much better experience at Turtle Pond.

That has to be the hottest laundry room on property. They could have installed it in the lighthouse and it would have been cooler.

The near HH Category is Bldgs 11 to 14 and 23 to 26. Bldgs 15 and 16, plus the 60s buildings are occasionally used as overflow if a system glitch causes near HH to be overbooked, or if a near HH room goes out of service for repairs.

If we're trying to get one of the grand villas on peninsular road, do I need to book the version that says "near hospitality house" on the DVC site? Or just the regular one and then put in a request?

We have done this several times. We booked the HH area then put in a request for a location in this area. Usually bldg. 23-26 and they have honored it each time....smjj

They are a thing there’s just no point difference. They created a separate category to give owners 11 month booking advantage for that particular location as originally there was no advantage at booking 11 months out other than getting a room, of course

Unlike the feature pools at most DVC resorts, the Sandcastle bottom is not zero entry unfortunately but it is still a nice pool

How hard is it typically to get a room near HH at the 7 month mark?

How hard is it typically to get a room near HH at the 7 month mark?

As any DVC it really depends on the time of year and the room type. I usually book the non HH category and then request the couple of buildings that are near HH that have elevators or just Ground Floor somewhere else. Being close to HH is not that important to us as we have a car and if we can't have buildings 62-64 then we are perfectly fine with the other quiet pools.

You can also just login to dvc right now and put in your dates to see what is available. Of course since you are a 7 month booker you won't be able to pull the trigger until your dates align but you can at least see what availability is looking like for when you want to go. Of course it's also possible that more rooms become available as well as some OKW owners may have a placeholder reservation hoping to swap somewhere else at 7 months themselves.

I wait listed a 2-night stay in a 1BR a few months ago. It came through yesterday, about 2 months before my trip.
