OKW In- Room Coffee Maker/ Grocery Service

Hi guys,

Trivial question I know, but staying at OKW shortly and just completing a Disney grocery order form...

Just a couple of quick questions...

Do I need to purchase filters for the coffee machine in the room at OKW? We are staying in a deluxe studio.

Also, has anyone got any feedback about the grocery delivery service in general? I know everything appears to have quite a premium but we don't have a car until later on in the stay as I figured it doesn't make sense having a car sitting in the resort whilst we do the disney parks, instead pick it up later when are going to universal and the shops. Is the grocery service worth it?

All DVC Villas should have a full size (10-12 cup) Mr Coffee style brewer that takes a flat bottom (basket) filter. There have been a few reports of some studios having a 4-cup Mr Coffee style brewer. If the room does have the smaller brewer, housekeeping will bring a full size one if called.

We always use Garden Grocer. They are expensive but if you order 60 days in advance you get a 10 percent discount! Plus, they sell beer.

We have ordered groceries thru the Disney resort a couple of times (VWL and BC) and have also used Garden Grocer. Some of the items were actually cheaper thru Disney (strange huh?) although there is a service fee. You do get the DVC discount if you are a member (or now a grand-fathered member). We always arrive late and it is really nice to have some items already in our kitchen and fridge when we arrive. With Garden Grocer you have to pick them up at Bell Services.

If your reservation was booked through DVC, your villa will be serviced every four days. If you booked through Disney Reservation Service for cash, you will get daily service. On those days your coffee supply will be replenished. You will probably be given two filter packs of coffee (one regular, one decaf) on each service day. Each pack makes 4-6 cups of coffee.

If you need more than that, you'll need flat bottom basket style filters (like Mr Coffee) and coffee.

We used Garden Grocer when we were flying down to WDW and were never disappointed in their service. We have a large family of 6 and purchased everything from meat, fresh produce, and deli. I was hesitant at first because I was afraid of letting someone else pick my produce since I'm pretty picky on quality. We were delivered amazing produce and meats. Never once had a problem with their service.
