OKW in Nov/Dec ?

I'm looking to reserve a grand villa at OKW from Nov 30 - Dec 4. My home resort is SSR. What's the likelihood of me getting this reservation?

I will only be able to book end of April i believe so what is available now is not exactly what will be available in April.

I was just trying to get a general idea.

At the 7 month window, booking for that timeframe for an OKW Grand Villa is very problematic. It's the lowest point season, and the lowest points of any GV at WDW. You should certainly call and try -- you never know, especially given the state of the economy this year. But I would encourage you to have a plan "B" ready when you call.

Make a reservation at your home resort now. At least a two bedroom and a studio. Then at 7 months, see if the OKW GV is available. If not, you still have lodging for 12 people at your home resort. If you book a GV at SSR, that will use more points than a GV at OKW, so you will have to bank points from the first reservation (unless you are past your banking window).

That's a great idea. A studio + a 2 bedroom at SSR is approximately the same amount of points as the GV at OKW. Thanks!

A little more complicated (but it should work) is to rent points from another DVC member who has OKW as their home resort so they can book this for you NOW. Then rent out your own points.

Or alternatively, do a transfer into your account from another DVC member who has OKW as their home resort and then use those points to make your reservation NOW (because I believe DVC says that when you transfer in or out, the home resort and use year go with the points - how they monitor this is beyond me). Then rent out your own points.

And remember if there isn't a GV available at OKW, get on the waitlist. I did this for the week before Thanksgiving a couple of years ago and we got the GV! The waitlist came thru in September, I think -

Some of the options that others presented are good ones. We just returned from a trip in Dec. SSR is our home resort, but we were able to switch to a 2BR at OKW at the 7 month mark. I think switching to a GV is def. a little more difficult.

Thanks for all your advice. I haved reserved a studio + a 2 bedroom at SSR and will check availability of a Grand Villa at OKW in April. I'm fine with either but having everyone together in a grand villa would be a little more ideal.

It's so exciting...i have a reservation at BWV in April and now SSR in November...my first reservations as a DVC member.
