OKW Grand Villa's at 7 months

Has anyone tried to book one with the 7 month? I'm particularly concerned because we want to go the 3rd week of October, when MNSSHP and EPCOT's Food & Wine Festival are both going on. I love my home resort, but the # of points required for GV's, WOW! And the OKW GV's are so much bigger, I really like the way they are set up. So, what do you think my chances are? Thank you,

By the way, I'm looking at 2007. I know it's too late for 2006.

I hate to rain on anybody's parade, but I would guess your chances are near zero. I would certainly try, but have a backup in place first.

I was on wait list for GV 3rd week of THIS coming October from about 9 mos until one month ago and nothing came through. Then we totally changed our plans. I released the 4 nights I had. They were not consecutive. Maybe you'll get a couple of those.

I had no luck at all for the last week in June when I tried at the 7 month mark. What I would do is try it day by day, my mistake was waiting till the check out day. Good luck.

I tried on Monday for a GV at OKW for 11-12 to 11-17 (Sun - Thur) and they had all days available except Sunday. I choose not to take the others and waitlist for the Sunday. So I have ressies at VWL (one bedroom and two bedroom) and am waitlisted for the all the dates at OKW if they become available. I won't be disappointed if we don't get it. I love VWL and it is actually where my DB requested to stay. Thought it would be fun (and less points) to stay in a GV at OKW since we've not done that before.

You might have a chance at the 7 month in Sept or Jan.

I agree with the others. The OKW GV's are extremely popular because of the points. Getting one for your dates in October is very unlikely.

I also tried unsuccessfully at the exact 7 month mark to our dates of 11/5 - 11/11 this year, but no GV available. There was availability for the first couple days and the last but not in between. Don't want to move so didn't take it, just wait listed. My guess is that due to F&W and "Jersey Week" that we will have to be satisfied with our fall back position at VWL

You might be OK late August, I know my next door neighbor at home has done it a few times the last week in August. I would call at the 7 month mark and do it day by day.

We were able to book an OKW Grand Villa from 5/16-5/25 @ 7 months with no problem. However, I did call day by day first thing in the morning.

I called at the 7 month mark for October 28-November 4 for a GV at OKW. I got all nights except October 29 and 30. I am on a waitlist for those days. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

What about a GV for Spring Break time? Is it harder to get one during that time.

Spring break time will be VERY difficult to impossible at 7 months, but I think the end of August there would be a good chance at 7 months.
