We have booked a grand villa at OKW. The hospitality house units are not available. Looking for input as to the best units to request. Thanks.

There are 27 GVs at OKW and only 2 of them are located in the Hospitality House section.

If you want something still "close" to HH, you could request Building 15, 16, 19 or 63 (although one of those in 63 is HCA).

Here is a map of OKW - the buildings with GVs are outlined in yellow.

We stayed in Bldg 15 last summer and it was very convenient. Close to the Miller Road bus stop. Close to the Miller Road pool. Not that far from the HH. And we had a nice view of the tee box. (I used that view for visual imagery the other night at the Emergency Room when I got burned and my blood pressure was way up from the pain. Brought it down 20 points in a few minutes). Very relaxing location.

We've stayed at #15 twice, #43 this past June and I think # 19 (1st time, before I started to pay attention and knew that I could make requests).

The GV in #15 is our favorite, close to but not actually in HH. Walking distance to HH, the pool/slide, Olivia's, the General Store, the Guirgling Suitcase. Lovely view of the golf course, the waterway & the fountain between the 2 greens.

If you want to relax, just hang out on the huge patio, sipping a drink and watch the golfers punt their balls into the water! (Just don't laugh to loud, they can hear you!) :rotfl2: :rotfl:

To be completely honest, any GV at OKW is fantastic!! Love all of the room and the atmosphere! You will love it no matter what are you get...have a magical time!

Another vote for building 15. We have stayed in the same GV there twice and love the location. I like that you can walk out the door and choose to go to either HH or Miller's Road bus stops.

We were in a GV in #25 for the marathon last January. Close enough to HH that the younger kids with us were able to easily go back and forth to the main pool etc. Plus it's pretty close to the first bus stop. We would usually walk to HH to get the bus in the am then get off at the first stop on the way back.

We have typically stayed in a 2-bedrooom in buildings 46 or 45 when we"ve stayed at OKW, because we love the view of the canal from the units there, and the walk to the HH is not bad,

I was wondering what might have a good view, near a bus and not too long a walk from the HH.

Just got back from a lovely week at OKW in a GV. We were in building 15 and it was definitely a good location--not too far to walk to the HH, but Miller's Road bus stop is even closer for bus travel purposes. Nice, quiet location and a great view.

Great view, but no GVs in those two buildings. There are GVs in 48 with very nice golf course views, but at least one of those is a HA unit, so might not be to your liking. Building 16 has nice views as well as 22, but 22 seems so far from everything to me. We stayed in that GV once, and our guests thought it was too far to the bus stop.

Is anyone familiar with building 25 or 53?

25 is in the HH category, and you said there was nothing available there. Building 53 is a great location as far as the bus and small pool are concerned, but there isn't much of a view there. We weren't in the GV there, but we were in a 1 bedroom unit there once.

Thanks. I wasn't completely sure if 25 was considered HH.

I suppose we're greedy. We want a bus, pool and a view!:rotfl2:

HH includes Buildings 11-14, 23-26.

I know many like Building 15 (it is in a quiet area with a nice gold course view) - I'll put in a plug for Building 16 (across the street). Building 16 housed the original model villas at OKW - there was one GV used as a model and one lock off 2BR so guests could see a 1BR. Studio and 2BR in one villa. The view there is of the 6th green with a great pond surrounding it. In the evenings there is a fountain in the pond.

Building 62 now stands in the location for the original sales office for DVC - the Commodore House. Miller Road was re-routed when Commodore House was demolished to add building 62, 63 and 64 and now runs thru what was the parking lot for the sales center.

16 is very close to two Bus Stops, the main pool with a great view. Our very first stay at OKW was in a 1BR in Building 16 back in 1993.

I wouldn't get too hung up on specific buildings though. I'd suggest requesting an area (Miller Road, Turtle Pond, South Point).

Enjoy! :)

I agree with Doc. I did mention 16 somewhere above too, but I had forgotten that there was only one GV in that building. It has virtually the same pluses as building 15 except that the view includes more of a pond as well as golf course. LOVE that location of 15 and 16 though.

LOVED our GV in building 43. Beautiful water view and right across the road from Turtle Pond Pool...very convenient. Enjoy!

I requested a GV in #15 last year and ended up in #43 and totally agree with you! I was not at all disapointed that my request was not met!

Thanks everyone for your patience and input.

I added a request today for buildings 16 or 15. Honestly, we're just happy to have a GV and will have a blast no matter where we land.

So to piggy back onto this discussion....I was able to book a GV at OKW in September of this year for 3 nights and it was in the HH category. Am I reading this thread correctly in saying our GV will probably be in building 25? I was looking at the wonderful map posted and the only one outlined in yellow in the buildings numbered 11-14 or 23-26...am I missing something?

It appears you guys really know this resort forwards and backwards and I know you will set me straight and for that...I thank you ahead of time!
