OKW Grand Villa questions

First time staying in a GV at OKW (or any GV for that matter) :-)

Looking at the room layout it seems that there is no door between the living room and Master Bedroom, is that correct?

Also, can the balcony only be accessed through the Master Bedroom and not through the Living Room as well?

If we want a quiet location (away from Bonnet Creek Parkway and Buena Vista Drive) with possibly a water view, what area should we request?

Anything else we should know about the OKW Grand Villas?

There is a hallway and an additional bathroom that seperates the living area from the master, but there is still a door to the master bedroom.

There is a door from the master and the living room that provides access to the same balcony.

I'm sure someone else can provide good advice for a quiet area. I like them all and have never noticed an excessive amount of noise anwhere on the resort.

There is a hallway that also has a 3/4 bath for those using the living room as a bedroom. This makes the master nice and private, because the door to the master is at the end of that hallway. You can also access the deck from the master, so you could go into the living room from there as well if you choose to do so.

Thanks!

I was asking for quiet locations because in the "Worst room view..." thread someone posted pictures of room 5020 (not sure what size it was) where there basically only was a small strip of bamboo separating the balcony from the 4 lane road on the other side.

Not my idea of a Disney view!

Okay, well to avoid that view in a 3 bedroom GV, you want to avoid building 22 and building 49.

:thumbsup2 I don't remember which GV we stayed in at OKW but I can tell you it was fabulous and clean and amazing! There were 10 of us and we had tons of room. The kitchen was huge- wish there were more dining room chairs though.

Have fun!

How about just requesting a quiet location rather than specifying a building?

We were in bldg 48 last September. It clearly overlooked the golf course (no water), and we were very pleased with it.

Really? We find it to be perfect with the 8 dining room chairs PLUS the 4 wicker chairs at the game table. When we have had 8, it's perfect at the main dining table, and when we have had 10-12, we have used the wicker set as a second table. We have also moved 2 chairs in from the porch and used those on the end of the dining table too so 10 can easily be seated there as well.

That might work, but what the room assigner assumes to be a quiet location and what is can be two different things. For example: on the surface you would expect both buildings 49 and 22 to be quiet because they are at the end of some rather long streets. In reality though, they back up to the major WDW roadways, so quiet they are not.

Our favorite GV buildings would be 15, 16, 48 (as long as you don't get the HH one), and 63. Don't care for 22, 49, or 29 Just about any of the rest would be fine though.
