Anyone have specific buildings you prefer when you stay in a Grand Villa. We have stayed once, and we ended up with a HA unit. Would prefer to leave those to someone that really needs it, if possible, so would like to request another location. Any good recommendations for good location and/or view?

We have only stayed in OKW GVs. We have preferred the ones in building 15. Love that location too, since it is easily accessible to both HH and Miller's Road. We liked the view from building 22, but it 's a ways to the bus stop, and a bit too close to the highway. Once we stayed in 15, we have continued to request that building, and have gotten it, so those are the only two GVs I have experience with. We have, however, stayed in several GV buildings when we weren't staying in a GV, and I would NOT recommend building 29. LOVED the location of building 16 as well as building 63, but that one has a HA unit in it.

We liked building 25. Nice view from balcony, close to HH and to 2 bus stops.

Diane, just wondering why building #15 seems to be a good spot? How is the noise level? Do you hear anything from the street that borders two sides. Heading just past the building and going on to Miller's Road, is that the laundry area? Ever hear any noise out of those laundry carts?

We have stayed in the one in #63, and while we loved the location, did not enjoy having a HA unit. We had the master suite, and I did not like the shower at all. Shower curtain kept sticking to me and no counter space around the sink. Also, no garbage disposal in the kitcken as the counter is lower and sink must be accessible. We have bad luck with getting the accessible units, and I am more than happy to leave them for those that do appreciate having them. If there comes a day when I am in need, I will be glad they are there for me then. :goodvibes

That was kind of my first pick. Looks like the view is both golf and water, maybe water on the left and water on the right?

We normally stay in the Southpoint area, near that quiet pool.

We were also in Bldg 15. Lots of greenery between the porch and the road (Disney Vacation Club Way). Most noise was the golfers teeing off at the 7th hole (I think it was 7). Just a plink every so often. Halfway between the Hospitality House and Miller Road bus stop. So if we saw the bus head to Miller Road, we could walk to HH to catch it. Easy walk to the Miller Road pool or to HH pool.

There are only 2 handicapped accessible GV at OKW.
One of them (as you found out) is in building 63.
The other is in building 48.

Yes, that's exactly right. We have stayed in the building 15 GVs twice, and it was very quiet (buffered from the main road by the housekeeping building, and by the golf tee for the other road). We too liked the fact that we could walk to HH and catch the bus if we saw it heading to Miller's. FYI, building 25 would be great, but you have to be booked in the special HH booking category to get that one.

In catching the bus at the HH (last stop before leaving the resort, right) did you find that you would get a seat or was it often standing room only?

If I call right at 11 months, hopefully I could get the HH #25 building.

Ditto, We've gotten this one twice and we love the location. If I plan to use the BBQ grills we request # 43 or # 53 both near quiet pools (not so quiet). Got one in #43 in June, it was great!

But by far my favorite is in #15.

It depends a bit on the time of year, but our trips have usually been October, November, December, January and March, and we've never had an issue getting a seat at the HH stop. Of course, we usually are on the bus early in the morning too.

we were in a GV last week at OKW - bldg #19. Really close to the Miller's Rd bus stop. View was foliage and of the quiet pool there. We had also stayed in a GV in Bldg #49 a couple of years back. the GV in #19 seemed a bit smaller than the one in #49, at least the laundry room was. Not a biggie, but it was smaller. The porch was also a bit smaller, but again no biggie - it was too hot to sit out there much. Don't remember outside noise being a factor at either of the gv's. Got to love 'em :love:

I hope your trip was all that you hoped for.

We were in bldg 22' never heard any noise, and loved. Loved, loved the view...had originally requested bldg 19 to be close to bus stop and quiet pool. Once we saw how close the balcony was to the quiet pool, I'm glad it had a maintenance problem, so we couldn't get it.
