OKW Grand Villa at 7 months mark

Just got off the phone with MS because I wanted to change the 3 standard view studios at BLT on the 11 months mark (really just as placeholders) and was hoping to change to a GV at OKW (it's the only GV I could afford with the points I have)

Knowing that GV usually are pretty hard to come by, I had some alternative options ready, first choice then would have been a 2BR and a studio.

So I was really happy when the nice CM at MS told me that they had one available and if I would like to book it. I said yes of course!

I was so surprised that I even forgot to ask about a GV in the Hospitality House booking category. But that's not so important anyway, we have rental car. I put in a request for water view though.

Now it's another month to wait for the ADR to become available.

That's great! I wondered about those GV's at 7 months out for September.
I have a "gals" visit this September and I was tempted to try, but I didn't.

I've only been a DVC member since Sept. 2009 and until now always got what I wanted, sometimes even at short notice.

That's a great track record. You do come from quite a distance!!

That's terrific OP. I'm wondering about early November. Just before Thanksgiving? I'd love to get a GV at OKW for our trip next year. Would my chances be good or not?

That might be a little less likely if you are trying to book during food and wine, but I think there's a decent chance you might find one available. You can always book other accommodations at 11 months and then try to switch to a GV and even waitlist for it it a t 7 months. That way you know you will have something even if you don't get the GV.

We are on a waitlist for our June trip, but have a 2bd and studio booked just in case. Would love to have the GV though!

We got a GV at OKW about 4 years agos at the 7 month window for the week before Thanksgiving, i think?? Too many sleeps and too many trips between the two

so it is possible. Give it a try.

We are heading down to a GV on March 2. I called to see if a GV was available about 3 months out and I got it!!! You just never know. I did have other places already reserved.
