OKW - Good time to go?

I know that VWL is busy in December because of Christmas and I've heard it's absolutely beautiful with the Decorations.

Boardwalk and Beach Club are close to Epcot and the Food & Wine festival makes it busy during those times.

Our home resort is Boardwalk [although] we have yet to take our first DVC vacation.

My question is: Old Key West, is there a busy time or shall I say an exceptionally good time to go for this resort? I really would like to stay there and wondered when the best time or worst time would be to go - and why?

OKW is no different than any other DVC as far as times to go. The least busy time would be May and September.

Last year we enjoyed OKW the last week of Nov, 1st week of Dec--perhaps it was full, but it never really felt that way to us.

We did hang out at the resort, renting boats, bicycles & eating, so I think we got a pretty good overall feel for the place~

We would do it again in a heartbeat!
We will be staying at BWV this November only because we need to branch out!

The exact times you mentioned (F&W, Christmas, Easter) were the times we had trouble getting OKW. I was waitlisted for the first week of Nov in '04 for OKW and it never came through----this was 60-90 days prior. The CM at OKW told me the resort was booked solid that week (it was F&W and Jersey Week).
I think with any resort during busy/popular times you need to plan as early as possible. A friend of mine booked approx a month or so before Easter this year and had trouble getting OKW (April 16-21). She got OKW for 1 day, VWL for 2 days and BCV for 2 days. This was all she could get and she was willing to split up her stay with 3 different resorts just to be in WDW.

Yep, busy the same times as other DVC resorts, but to answer part of your question...ALL times are great times to be at OKW!

My favorite time to go is in the first 2 weeks of December. The weather is nice. The crowds are down and the decorations are up for Christmas.
