Does anyone know of any pictures I can find of OKW's fitness center? What kind of equipment does it have? I assume it's located near the Hospitality House, right?

It's located next to the bike/video rentals at Community Hall. I don't have photos, but it has a very small but decent gym. There are Stairmasters, free weights and Nautilus. There may be stationary bikes. I can't remember if there's a treadmill or not.

GCM13, There are two treadmills in the fitness center, right in front of one of the TVs. The remote is usually in one of the cup holders for your viewing pleasure. There are also towels so don't worry about grabbing one from your room. I don't remember a water fountain because I brought a water bottle with me. I worked out in the morning and only noticed a bit of a crowd between 7 and 8 am.
Have fun, Michelle

Thank you both very much for the info. My dh is training for the marathon and will definitely be using the treadmills.

GCM,
I am not sure how many miles your husband runs, or if he prefers the treadmill, but OKW does also have a running trail. I can't remember how long it was, but I have run it on my stays there, and it was nice. I like to run 7 or 8 miles so I just follow the trail and then make a few extra loops. I believe a map with the information is given when you check in.
Enjoy!

AnnK, this is a little off-topic, but I have to take my hat off to you. I know from previous posts you have 5 children. I only have one, and I've cut my running back drastically to 3 miles a day a few days a week. I don't know how you do 6-8 miles with all your other commitments, but YOU GO GIRL!!!

By the way, I like running around the trails (the back way to DD is the route I use) too, instead of the treadmill.

Thanks Kristen!
My run is very important to me, and when the kids were babies, I would get up and run at 5:00 am, while they were all sleeping, it was not always easy but the run, and the quiet cup of coffee were a great way to start my day and I have fond memories of those moments. I give you due respect for getting out and running 3 miles, so many people have children and then give up on their exercise. There were times when the kids were young that I might only have a half hour to sneak a run in, and I would just do that , as opposed to doing nothing.
It's a bit easier now, ( I can now sleep in a little longer!) but things still can be complicated with the kids varying schedules. I too am not a treadmill person, I like to feel sun, smell the air and take in the beautiful sights.
I have run half marathons, I hope to eventually run the Disney half or full. I just am not too crazy about tht early wake up , ( anymore hehe.)

Thanks, Ann for the info. I will tell my husband about the path. He has been running on a treadmill. He's done up to 10 miles on it. I don't know how he can go that long on it! As long as the weather isn't too hot and humid next week, I'm sure he'll try the jogging path out too.
