OKW-First Floor Request in Dec.

I will preface this post by saying that I do understand that a request is just that and it may not be granted. We are travelling in Dec. (with young children) and I am wondering if anyone has ever NOT received their request for a first floor room (either in HH area or outside of it)??

I had a first floor request one time and we ended up on the second floor, they said that was all that was available. It was in May. If I recall correctly, we did arrive in the evening.

I have requested a first floor for both my OKW visits. One was in Nov and the other in Feb/March. I received both. But I had good reasons, the company I was bringing was my aging parents (they don't do stairs very well), and a friend with back problems. I was very grateful to receive the ground level. However, our view wasn't the best in both cases. No worries. We spent most of our time at the pool.

I had a first floor request in the summer and did not get it. Second floor, it was. Nice views, though.

Thank you for your responses. Guess I will have to decide if lugging strollers and kids up flights of stairs is worth the points savings.

First floor requests go to those with mobility problems and young children first so you should be okay. Now if you have a group of teenager traveling with you like myself then its the luck of the draw. Strollers and medical conditions take first priority so I wouln't worry.

I never make any requests, and I seem to ALWAYS get a first floor. Frankly, I'd rather have the top floor to avoid the noise of running, superball bouncing children above. I really do think it is the luck of the draw, but if anyone wants to trade that first floor I always get for the top floor, I'm game!
