It seems that many people really love OKW. We looking to go back to WDW in November, and are torn as to where to stay. Can you share your experiences at OKW? Good or bad.

Our family has always loved OKW (owners since 93). The convenience of parking outside your door, large rooms and balconys add to the enjoynment.
It is very laid back more so than Saratoga Springs and the Wilderness Lodge. It really comes down to how you like to vacation, our family spends alot of time relaxing in the room.

I stayed there over the New Year- dec07-jan08. I had high expectations and OKW did not disappoint! I dealt with the best CMs I have ever encountered at WDW all week long- every single cast member was terrific. A little something extra special from each and every one- even if it was just a really warm, engaging demeanor- each and every CM made me feel the the magic.

The pool area has a great tropical feeling. Our room was enormous and it really felt like 'home'. I love the boat to DTD also.

The only negative is that I wasn't crazy about the small menu at Good to Go.

We loved OKW. We were in building 46 with a view of the water. Short walk to the bus stop. The rooms are amazing. They are so much larger than BWV (our home). Olivia's was good. The pool is nice. And we were very lucky with the buses. It was a very relaxing vacation. I think it's more laid back than other resorts.

We stayed at OKW Nov 25-Dec.2, 2007. We stayed in a studio in building 14, we loved it!!! We had a balcony with a small table and two chairs overlooking a golf course and water, the water had a fountain so it was a constant calming sound...We walked to HH to get on buses and we got off on the first drop off in the resort, we never waited long for a bus. I think we liked the atmosphere the best..Jimmy Buffet music playing and everyone is so laid back, we met so many nice people just around the resort...We enjoyed the resort so much I didn't even give a second thought to staying somewhere else in October when we return.

Are there multiple pools? And does anyone mind sharing pictures of the resort accommodations, pool, etc.....

Thank you

Living room. A bit dirty after a day or two.
This was a 2 bedroom I can't remember the building number but it was on the 2nd floor.

We really enjoyed OKW. We visited in August so it felt cool and peaceful to return to after a day in the heat of the parks. We were very close to our quiet pool. We had a car so I can't comment on the bus system.

We simply love OKW.....it feels like a resort as opposed to many that are simply hotels....I love to go for walks along the paths, and to play golf at LBV which snakes throughout the resort. The pool is great and the rec area is fun as well. The rooms are much bigger then other DVC rooms, and the balconies are great for hanginout, playing cards, or just stretching out!!!

Thank you for posting some pictures. You went in August? I honestly think we would be heat casulities. October/November works for us for now. That is until our school system starts making waves.

A friend of ours let us his disney vacation club in Feb 07, and needless to say, that is why we just purchased DVC. I love the Caribbean and WDW, so this is like the 2 meet in the middle. I stayed at PORFQ this past December, the land part of our land and sea, and I feel like I was spoiled rotten by OKW. Like anything else was unaccpetable.LOL!!!

I love this place. To me, there's nothing wrong with it. Just beautiful. :goodvibes

we were in #2123 last week. Personally we were not all that impressed. The rooms were very large and comfortable. Had to clean the bathrooms when we got there, hair on the floor, sticky gunk on the counters.. no biggie. You could hear everything too! I could hear conversations going on with the noisy people downstairs and also jumping kids upstairs, starting at 5am and sometimes as late as 12am. ughh..
we had a pretty relaxing view though--

The bus situation irked me. based on our location, it took forever to get home from the parks. We were next to last stop. So from the time we entered OKW, it was another 10-12 minutes to get to our room.

The main pool was at the Hosp house. It was very nice. It took a while to walk there from our room. We could have taken a bus, but our bus luck was very bad to say the least.

Sorry for the mess, but it literally took the kids about 5 minutes to make a mess...lol

You could hear conversations? Wow. At SSR, we didn't even know when anyone was around us. Which was great.

Thank you

The people below us were a mother, father and 3 teenagers. VERY loud. You probably couldn't hear normal people talking. These people were abnormal for sure. We had to complain the day before we left because of the noise level.:sad2:
