OKW owners since 1993. We stayed in a studio this past week in building 22. The room still has the original carpet and is in serious need of a makeover.

Aww....do you think they forgot to rehab it?

OMG! That should have been gone years ago, if I remember right. Our last stay was at Southpoint, and I don't remember much original flooring, except perhaps tile in the bathroom.

Major refer of all OKW units, inside and out, starts this summer, it will last 2 years, into 2019.

When they did refurb a several years ago (was it 2009-2010?) and put in those fake hardwood floors, they left carpet in the studio parts and I think the master bedrooms. Just the kitchen/living room area got the hard flooring. Not sure if they replaced the carpet but they kept those spaces carpeted. They also kept the bathroom tile and kitchen backsplash tile I believe. We stayed there in Dec 2011 and it was somewhat newly renovated. I will have to go look at my pictures and see what they did. I hated those hard floors as you could hear every noise from the folks above you... we were on ground floor.

Just stayed in a studio in January. Serious updates are needed. Really a total gut of the bathrooms as well as major decor overhaul is needed. Very sad the state this resort is in.

Since they are about to start a two year Reno and we just were at BWV the past few stays, during renos...I think we'll skip OKW for March 2018 which we were planning on staying.

We're seriously considering another resort this year because of the upcoming renos. Hopefully BLT, but we're still trying to nail down a firm date.

Not the original carpet. They replaced it in about 2010.

We were there in late September, 1 br near Southpoint. We were happy with the room, but the bathroom was in terrible condition. The tiles were chipped and broken, and the shower leaked all over the bathroom. I had to mop-up the water after showering so no one slipped/fell. That being said, we still had a great time, and will be back.

Depressing to hear.

I do hope you guys are complaining to (or at least informing) the resort manager.

I'm sure there are subpar rooms in most resorts but I'm still optimistic enough to think they'd try to address issues that they are made aware of...

We did a split stay, an OKW Studio/BLT Studio, the week after Christmas, Hospitality area. The room was clean and fresh smelling, carpeted. The bathroom was also clean, and in good condition. We were happy to be home again! The subsequent stay at BLT was equally enjoyable.

The nice thing about OKW is that the condo-style buildings allow them to block off a building at a time, and it really won't impact the rest of the resort that much. Much different than the hotel-style buildings under renovation.

DH and I will be staying there 1st week in Oct. for the 1st time ever and I'm worried about the condition of the resort.
It's making me regret renting points here. Hoping maybe to get a refurbished room, some rooms may be completed by the time we stay there.

Every single resort gets similar reports now and then. And every single resort has lots of happy visitors who think it was in great condition. I'd not worry and just look forward to the trip.

Exactly. What's more, if you go in looking for reasons the room is not up to par, you will find them. If instead you are there to enjoy your vacation, you probably will do so.

We've stayed at OKW in every size villa about 16 times in the last 19 (almost 20) years. I'm not looking at picky things so I don't find any thing. We've had wonderful stays each time. We've found great CMs at OKW and we love dining at Olivia's. We prefer the neighborhood pools over the themed pools because of the afternoon parties (not into them at all). But OKW is our favorite and we'll be back there in Sept and Jan.
