OKW dedicated 2 br?

Just booked a trip for DW and me along with her parents to OKW. We got a dedicated 2 br in the HH area. Very cool. But I didn't know there were dedicated 2 brs at OKW. I thought they were all lockoffs. How are they different?

I've only stayed in a dedicated 2BR OKW but it will only have 1 entry door into the entire unit. Also, the 2nd bedroom will not have a kitchenette. Ours also did not have a balcony off the 2nd bedroom - only the large one off the main living area with a patio door off the master BR as well.

Thanks. So should I switch to a lockoff? I don't see the kitchenette as an issue as we will have the full kitchen. The only downside I see is the the internet connection will be in the master, which we are giving to my in laws. But I can bring a wireless router to fix that. Anyone know which buildings in the HH area have dedicated 2 brs?

There will be a very large closet where the entry would have been into the second bedroom. Almost a small room. And where the kitchenette would have been will be another bathroom sink. Plus no balcony.

First rule of DVC ownership, the owner always gets the master bedroom. Always.

Unless things have changed since we were there at Christmas there are several ethernet connections in each unit. However the extra ports aren't advertised. Me, being the curious sort that I am, took a look at the the phone connections behind the nightstands in both bedrooms. The phone is connected to a hub which also has a couple ethernet ports. Since I always carry a spare ethernet cable we were able to use multiple CPUs without the benefit/expense of a wireless router.

There are many dedicated 2 bedrooms at OKW. There are no dedicated 1 bedrooms or studios, they are all lockoffs. BWV's 2 bedrooms are all lockoffs.

There are dedicated 2 bedrooms and lockoff 2 bedrooms (1 BR + studio) in every building at OKW. See Doc's summary:

Every Building at OKW has both dedicated an lock-off 2BRs. The main internet connection is in the dining area and a router can easily be connected there and set on the counter top.

All of the 2nd BRs will have 2 Queen beds and , as noted, will not have the balcony or kitchenette - but will have additional closet space. In the "HH" category, the master BR will have only one access to the bathroom area - there will not be an entry via the laundry room.

We had a Ded 2 BDR near HH last Apr with my in-laws - there were four of us and only 2 of them so we took the 2nd bedroom - the sink/closet area was very nice but I would have preferred a little more personal space afforded by the lock-off!!! We were in building 13 on the upper lever with a gorgeous view of the golf course. We walked across the street to the main pool and HH - it was truly perfect.

We return to OKW in 2 weeks - this time with my family and a lock-off!!

We have always had dedicated 2 bedroom units at OKW. It is our preference. The extra walk in closet is the BEST if you have little ones along who need a quiet room to sleep. The pack N Play fits in there nicely.
