Just back from OKW visit (loved it, by the way!) and was surprised to find that they are charging to refill the resort mugs. Costs $1.69 at Gurgling Suitcase and $1.75 at Turtle Shack.
Any other resorts charging for refills???
I miss the free refill!!:(

I didn't think OKW ever had "free" refills. The mug there is less expensive and since all people who stay at OKW have a fridge, I doubted many used the refillable mugs.

Perhaps that explains the charge...I didn't remember paying for refills the last time we stayed there, but it was quite awhile ago....the memory is a more than a little foggy that far back! :scratchin We never got a chance to check at one of the other resorts about refill charges. WDW was really hopping....took a lot longer to get places than I was used to (and we go at Xmas time, too!) Still worth the trip, even when it's crowded. Great weather, too.
Thanks for answering my question ::yes::

There was always a charge to get refills at OKW (we've been members since 1993 and DH got a refillable mug on our first trip).

We just returned from OKW on 4/2. When we arrived, they had only the regular mugs which they do charge for refills. While we were there, the holiday mugs arrived (entitled Spring Break, I think). These cost about 10.95 or 11.95 and they do have free refills which more than paid for the mugs. We happen to be lucky enough to hit holiday mugs each trip, i.e, Halloween, X-Mas, Spring break. We usually inquire if there is one coming out during our stay.

During our last trip, we bought a refillable mug at Vero and it was good at OKW. It had Stitch on it dated for that summer. It was honored at all of the poolside places in OKW.

They did honor our mugs from Beach Club 2003...I just didn't remember having to pay for a refill before this trip. Got a little worried that the free refill had disappeared. Thank you, patsal, SueM, and Tigger7570, for setting me straight.:wave2:

There are ususally two options (or at least when I am there there is). You can buy the less expensive mug and pay for the refills or buy the refillable at a higher price and get free refills. You need to look at the counter, (sometimes they are not really obvious), not the sign with the menu items. Sometimes you have to ask.
