Dear all,
having just booked our first OKW vacation last week, our confirmation came thru this morning.
I did request a few things when I called MS and these have been put on the reservation form,ie,new building quiet location etc.
I noticed on the form it mentions building 62,what is it like, have i made the right choice here?Im begining to panic,as i dont want to be in a noisy area or kept awake all night by busses etc, help, can anyone advise me!!!!

Requests should be made in your order of importance-as that is how they are filled. (non-smoking, building, floor, etc). The problem with specific buildings is that they are more difficult to honor at times (a range of buildings may work better.)

A studio located next to a roadway where buses have to apply brakes will sometimes notice some squeal noise, but otherwise you may not notice any traffic noise.

One suggestion.....turn the fan from "auto" to "On"- which will provide some background sound to minimize noises from other locations! (Will NOT drown out the acrobatic troupe rehearsing upstairs however! )

If you are more interested in a quiet location- you can just ask for that. The new buildings are NOT anything special- unless you require elevator access. The older buildings are maintained to look like new. Enjoy your trip ...and your room location. In our almost 30 OKW trips- we've never been disappointed in a location.

We just stayed in Building 62 in mid-March and when I returned, I made a quick post about our experience. Basically, we were down the very end of the builing in 6226. It was a little noisier than I prefer, primarily because there was alot of "outdoor refurnishing" (DVC's phrase) going on. You will always here all the buses passing. My guess is that the other end of the building would be less noisy. But we love being close to Hospitality House. I also felt that the new building was very fully stocked i.e. not a kitchen item missing. All appliances were new. I wouldn't request 62, (but then again, I don't usually make requests) but I wouldn't be unhappy if we were put there again.

Were were in building 62 (6216) just a couple of weeks ago and didn't have any more noise than any other building. It was brand new, clean, convenient and a great location! :)

we were in bldg 62 over feb. vacation. had 2 studios,6215 and 6225.
we did not notice any more noise than in any of the the other locations we have stayed in there.
we loved the location(will request that location again).
the building is new; clean, and bright.
always request top floor, if you can. it is usually the quietest.
we didn't get top floor on this trip but it didn't seem to make much difference.
okw is beautiful, you wiil have a great trip!

We stayed in building 64 in December and loved the location. I would stay there every time. It was our first trip as DVC'ers and we couldn't have asked for a better area. I realize we were a couple of buildings from where you will be but we had a beautiful view of the 7th green and were also close to the Hospitality House.

Stayed in rm 6216 and even though we heard the buses outside on the patio, could not hear them inside the villa. Great location to Hospitality house. We were on the 1st floor and I must warn you if you don't like ducks, birds and other wildlife coming up to and on your patio, request 2nd or 3rd floor. (My kids loved it and we still laugh every time my DH said a duck tried to attack him.)

Yeah! We had a lot of birds this trip too! Somebody on the second floor above us made matter worse though. Saturday morning he leaned over the edge of his balcony and poured about 1/2 a box of cereal out...just dumped it out of the box. Every bird in the vacinity gathered 'round.
