Anyone know generally how far in advance the HH rooms book up? Curious as we just returned from our first OKW stay and we really enjoyed it but was wondering if you can ever get the closer buildings at 7 months. We booked this one at 4 months and weren't expecting it obviously. But going forward I was curious if we'd have a shot. Not a big deal, we'd stay again either way but we don't rent a car and do have a 2 yr. old so it would make things easier. Thanks!

There really isn't any way to tell. If the members before you request HH for your dates, your out of luck. I know that out of maybe 8 OKW 7 month or less stays, we only got the HH once.

Well, let me just say that in over 30 OKW stays, We have only stayed in the buildings now classified as HH catagory 3 times, and it really isn't all it's cracked up to be. Frankly, it is far from my favorite area at OKW. I do like the convenience of getting on the bus right before it leaves the resort, and being able to get off at Penninsular Road first in the evening, but beyond that....eh... We have never stayed in the Pennisular Road area of HH catagory, and I'm hoping to do that in December. Our favorite "near HH" buildings are actually NOT in the catagory. We really like 15 and 16. While they are officially Miller's Road, we found them very convenient to HH too.

Our favorite over all OKW buildings are 45 and 46. They are the ones right along the canal and have spectacular views and privacy!

Thanks for the replies. Sounds unlikely we'd get the HH location at 7 months but also that we might not be missing out as much as we think. We were actually in bldg. 45 and did have a nice water view. I guess if we stay again I'll just make a general request not to be too far out.

We stayed in #6420 last Christmas catty corner from HH and found it to be great! We got on the bus in front of HH in the morning and when we returned we got off at the 1st stop to the side of HH so was very nice. We requested nothing just got a GREAT CM who moved us all the way atthe back to the front.:thumbsup2
Made sure we contacted MS for her outstanding dedication to us....Shawnpirate:

Don't give up hope for a HH building. A friend of mine never requested one, but got one last month. At check in, she mentioned that she hoped she didn't have to walk too far, because her leg hurt. The CM asked her if she'd like an elevator building, and she got Building 64. Maybe she just got lucky (assuming you want HH), but it can happen.

I'm a brand new DVC owner. We own at BCV but will making our first DVC stay in July at OKW..Explain HH rooms to me.... And should we be making a room request??? I have 2 boys ages 11,13.. We will have a car- do not need disney transportation.. I may want to be near a drink refill station.

"Near Hospitality House" is just that, buildings adjacent to the Hospitality House. Personally I think that there are better views away from HH. If you have a car, I wouldn't bother.

I suspect you are too late to request anything now for HH in July. It's a booking catagory, not a request. Frankly, I think OKW transportation is very good, and the only time we use the car is occationally to go to AK. All other parks are actually accessed faster with Disney transportation. We like to take our chances on location at OKW too. We do have favorites, but I rarely make any requests. There are FAR more good locations than bad ones there. So far the only one I tell people to stay away from is building 29. Of course, if you are staying in a 1 bedroom and need to have living room guests have access to the bathroom without going through the master, you should request building 30 or higher.

Just out of pure curiosity, what's wrong with building 29? Don't want to end up with a lemon next time ;)

We have stayed in building 12, 13,15, 24, 25, 26, 54, and 62. We always try to request near HH. I like being able to walk over to get a drink or get something in the store or be near the pool and the boat to DD. Building 54 was also nice. It was quiet and near a bus stop but not too close. I did not like 15 it was too close to the road and we heard bus noise. I am bad when it comes to noise. We live at home in a very quiet area, so it bothers me. We were put in building 11 once and went right back and got changed. It was like a jungle and the room smelled musty from not having too much sunlight in the room. Building 18 looks like a great area if you cannot get HH area.

I just called yesterday to change my dates by one day deleting one and adding another and it was at the 7 month mark and I did get my 2 bedroom HH area, I could not get a 1 bedroom HH for the same time period for all my days. So good luck at the 7month window. I am an OKW owner so I usually don't have a problem. I am still deciding if we should go to Kidani instead, as of yesterday i could get a 2 bedroom savanna view and i kept OKW and now I'm not sure. I hate these decisions.

LOL, just goes to show how everyone likes/dislikes different things. Building 15 was one of our favorites. DH is very sensitive to noise, yet he didn't have any trouble there. The quietest room, however, was in Building 42. The least quiet were Buildings 51 and 52 (road and bus noise), and Building 33 (hopefully that one was just a one time thing). But we also loved the views from Building 15. We just came back from a stay in Building 18, and while it was OK, it was neither our favorite nor least favorite.

The two times we stayed booking at 7 & 4 months we had buildings 24 and 25. I just booked(4 months out) two studios to add to our Oct. trip and they're near HH.

It's very hemmed in with tall vegetation to protect it from the fairway that is VERY close. It doesn't allways protect you from the flying golf balls though. Also, if you happen to get a unit UNDER the GV, it will be very noisy from the hardwood floors above you, and if you are in the unit closest to the road, there are both air conditioning units and noisy buses right outside your window.

We LOVE 15 too! There again though, you would NOT want to be on the first floor under a GV. We stayed in the GV there once, and it was our favorite GV location. We always sent kids out, and when they saw the bus we wanted going to the Miller's Road bus stop, they called us, and we all walked to the HH stop and got on the bus. Worked GREAT everytime!

Gotcha. Thanks for all the tips everyone! Can't wait for another OKW stay to put them to good use :)
