Getting ready to make our first reservation as DVC members tomorrow and we have decided that we want to be in the Hospitality House area. Are there any buildings that are in a better location than others? We're looking at buildings 11-14 so we won't have to cross the main road to get to HH.

I have stayed in bldg 14 four time and like it for it's proximity to HH. But it doesn't have the best views as it is pretty much surrounded by trees, and depending on which side of the bldg you are on is very close to the main entrance road so you will definitely have some traffic noise.

If I had a choice of bldgs at check in I think I would choose either 13 or 62, both are equally close to HH, and I think each would have a little better views.

62 is a little harder to get as it is one of the bldgs with elevators. And you do have to cross Peninsular Rd, which is not that big of a deal.
I have 2 reservations there for upcoming trips and I hope I can get one of those 2, but I would take 14 again if that's all that was available.

Bldgs 23-26 are also considered HH area, 24-26 are a few steps farther away and you have to cross Peninsular Rd. 23 is just about the same distance as 13, 14, or 62.

But you do have to walk through the parking lot. At least they have finally put a zebra crossing (crosswalk) across it so that makes it a bit safer now IMHO! Buildings 23-26 are fine. It's a nice walk over the bridge and though you do have to cross over the main road once, the traffic will (or at least, should!) stop for you to do so.

62 isn't in the HH booking area.

I'm not a fan of any of 11-14 because sometimes it looks like it would be hard to find a parking place at the villas there. People who drive over to the HH will take those spaces when there aren't any left at the HH.

We stayed in building 12 and loved it! Never had a problem parking and it was a very short walk to pool area and bus stop. Also stayed in 23 (or one near there). It was the building closest to the road and our unit faced the road. We heard a lot of bus traffic - the buses ran VERY late into the night. Had great views in both buildings.

We like building 14 if we are in the HH catagory, but I've always thought 23 looked good. I'm glad they have a crosswalk marked out now. I used to always feel like I was taking a risk crossing that street to HH from 14. Frankly, I think the crossing from 23 is better, since there is a stop sign at that crosswalk.

This past August we stayed at OKW for the first time with a guaranteed reservation of "Near HH". Looking at the OKW map on the member site I called back with the request of buildings 11 thru 14. We didn't get our request - we were in Blg 23 which, IMHO, is the most convenient location near HH :thumbsup2. The main pool is directly across the street and crossing over was never an issue. There is a crosswalk and the CM traffic (buses, maintenance carts, etc) always stopped well before the pedestrians. It was a 2-3 minute walk. The next best thing is that the bus stop is just steps away from the building (I think it's 'Penninsular Rd'). The view is great - off the balcony is the water/fountain/bridge and across the street (side view) is the OKW lighthouse/pool/boat dock area.

Have a great trip!

I agree with RLRDA. Buildings 23 - 26 are great. They are a very short walk to the HH and pool and the Peninsular Road bus stop is always the first stop for buses entering OKW. So you're the first one picked up on the way in and you're the first one dropped off on the way home. And if you miss your bus you can always take an easy stroll to the HH and catch it there.

We've also stayed in 14 and the views are not good, but it's very close to the HH and pool area.

You won't go wrong with either. Have a great trip!!!
