OKW and airline checkin?

I just read in this thread on the Transportation Board

that you can't check in to your participating airline at OKW because they don't have room? Can anyone confirm or deny?

The Transportation sticky said it was last updated in July so maybe it has changed.

We were there the first weekend of October without a hitch.

I was there in September and used the RAC for Southwest. It was great not having to schlep my luggage through MCO.
