Hi guys,

We have our honeymoon planned for Sept 2012, but are considering possibly going back with extended family in 2014. Finances would be tight, but I'm thinking of ways to cut down the cost a bit, but also so that the 4 of us still have enough room.

We wouldn't be staying with the rest of the family (they'd have a villa), so there would be me, DH, and his two DSs who would be 17 and 12 by then.

A villa might be an option, although perhaps a bit pricey for 4, and I'd need to add in car hire / insurance / parking / grocery shopping etc.

We love staying on site, and I'm wondering about the OKW 42% discount offer which appears now and again. Only thing is... I don't know anything about it! A one bedroom apartment would be ideal for us I think, DH and myself in the bedroom, and DS17 and DS12 could have a bed each in the living area... Privacy for us, and no bed sharing for them!

The other alternative could be Art of Animation suites, but they are looking a bit pricey at the moment.

Can anyone shed some light on the OKW deal?
Wayne - I picked you out because I know you've done it. Do you book through Disney USA, Disney UK or someone else? I know you do DIY flights. If you book the accommodation and park tickets together do you also qualify for free DDP if that offer is on? We'd need to go in the Scottish school holidays, does the offer usually run on dates like that?

It's early to be thinking of 2014, but that's the kind of things which go through my mind! I'd rather have a list of options once the time gets closer, so that I can research some prices and see if the sums add up and if we can make it...

Thank you so much for your help!! :grouphug:

Ive just booked OKW with free dining for part of our holiday for next year. We booked through complete orlando and you have to purchase your disney tickets as part of the deal. You can pay a deposit with the remaining balance payable 8 weeks prior to arrival.

I wouldn't spend too much time thinking about it yet, they have not yet extended the offer of free DDP for 2012, end of this month could be the end of the offer. Anything can happen 3 years away.

If you want to look at the current offer to get ideas then look at Completeorlando.co.uk or on Disney.co.uk
Just look at room & ticket packages, no flight included.
CO will be the price you pay. Disney you would have to go thru Quidco to get 3% cashback. CO usually works out same price or less.

Dates available now are 1st Jan - 26 Feb & 1 May - 18 Nov 2012 inclusive. You need to buy minimum of 5 day tix.

Disney.com also offer free DDP deals but I don't know a lot about them, they used to work on full rack rate which is too expensive for me even with free DDP.

Ask again if we can help with anything.

Thank you both for your help!

Knowing that *IF* free DDP is offered that it could be combined with accommodation and park tickets is great thanks. I didn't know if you needed the full flights packages or not.

Also Wayne, thank you for your input, I can look at Complete Orlando and Disney UK to see what the prices come out as, and knowing the dates cover summer holls is a big help too.

:thumbsup2

I'd say even with those extras, the villa option is at the very least a lot more for your money and at best a lot cheaper than a hotel.
