Just wanted to let you all know my observations about OKW. We own here and although we have stayed at other DVC, we just love being at OKW. We were there 3/11-3/18, in a 1 bedroom. Rm. 3325. It is in the Turtle Pond area, and overlooks a pond and part of the golf course. Forgive me, but I am not a golfer, so I have no idea what I was looking at. We saw lots of ducks with their ducklings every morning as we sat on our balcony. Truly relaxing.

We spent lots of time at the main pool and that too was relaxing. The only thing I found a bit disappointing was that you could no longer order off the Olivia's menu at Goods To Go. It did not ruin our stay, so no big deal. On St. Patricks Day they had a great pool party, complete with a DJ, and lots of water games. Eddie from Community Hall is just fantastic with the kids. Kudos to him!!!!

We had gotten a message one day that they would be power washing our building and asked us to move everything inside the room, off the balcony. Unfortunately, we did not get the message until later that day, but not a problem. Housekeeping must have moved our stuff inside for us. I did not have a problem with this and thought it was very considerate. I also noted that they were repaving the street by buildings 23-26, which is directly across from the main pool. Took 2 days or so. I don't know where the cars were parked to people who were in those buildings, but it did not seem like a huge inconvenience.

All in all, everything was great. However...we had a bunch of kids in the studio next to us. On Sunday night, about 1-2 am, they were screaming so loud that it woke both me and my husband up, and we were in the bedroom on the other side of the villa!! My kids were sleeping on the pull out, but never woke up. We called the front desk to see if they could do anything, but the woman on the phone did not understand what the problem was. We waited a bit and called again. The noise subsided soon after our phone call. I do not know if security was called, as I did not hear any door open or close, but it did get quiet. On Monday night, it happened again. This time it was 2 am and I was getting quite frustrated. The yelling and doors banging. I called the front desk and had security called. Again, I don't know if they went to the room, but it got quiet shortly after the phone call. Tuesday night it started at 11pm. This time, not only was there screaming and doors banging, but the vulgar words that were being screamed were horrible! My daughter could not sleep, and kept complaing about something being thrown against the walls! It was so bad that I got on the phone and really complained. I essentially said that I pay good money to own DVC, and that after 3 nights in a row, I have had it. They need to do something quickly as I was not happy. I waited for 30 minutes for it to get quiet and it did not. I actually kept looking out the peephole to see if anyone went to the door. During this time, the noise was getting louder and I have no idea what they were throwing against the walls, but I am surprised it did not come through the wall!! Finally they must have gone out because it got very quiet for the remainder of the night. We had no other noise issues while there.

All in all, a great, relaxing vacation. I can't wait to go back!!

Wow....I'm sure it was relaxing except for the rude and rowdy neighbors ! That sounded horrible. So no CM or security ever followed up with you ? I'm glad your trip went well except for the 3 nights of noise. That St Patty's pool party sounded fun ! Thanks for the TR :thumbsup2

I wonder if it is possible to call police directly? I doubt it. You need to know that when you call the "front desk" from your room phone, it goes to a central location and NOT the front desk of each individual resort. I find this to be one of the most frustrating things in WDW! I actually end up going to the desk myself if it's something internal like noise or a smoking issue.

In this particular instance, I would probably have banged on the common door. We once had folks in the adjoining room trying to open the connecting door. I knocked on the door, and it stopped. I actually considered opening OUR connecting door to surprise them, but I decided against that option! :teeth:

Lisa,

Glad you had a great trip. I am sorry to hear about your noisy neighbors. I can't imagine what they were doing at that hour.

I once had noisy neighbors at the Swan/Dolphin, however it was more of a domestic dispute kind of situation (that went on all hours of the day). It made me really sad. :sad2: Those poor children. There they were at the place that should be the happiest of there lives and the get to listen to Mom and Dad yelling explicatives at each other. I honestly believe that those are the people that never want to visit WDW again. (Bad Memories)
