Hey all-- new here, but have been getting great info from these parts for a couple of years now. I'm a little slow getting out of the gate in registering and posting!

Anyway, I'm traveling with my DH, DD (15 months) and parents. We're getting a 2 BR at OKW, and I'm looking for a recommendation on a two BR that is lower level, non-smoking and quiet pool and bus-stop convenient. I know it's not guaranteed by a long shot, but I'd just like to put a request in FWIW. I've looked at the maps, but find that they can be deceptive as sometimes things aren't as far as they seem on paper. Anyone have good first hand experiences with such a room request?

Thanks!

Hi,
Our favorite quiet pool is near buildings 53,54,55,56. It's on a nice culdesac off the beaten path. I just requested any one of these for our 2 br in November/December.
good luck
Robb

if you don't care about the second door in the master bath - 18, 19, 20, 21 - (I think 19 and 21 are smoking - not sure - since they changed so much to non-smoking)

still I would just put your request like you have it - near a quiet pool and a bus stop.

How about having three out of four of your requests?

Last year we stayed in Building 13 (room 1314)...ground floor - NS 2 Bedroom directly across from the HH, the HH Bus Stop, and of course the Main pool (not a quiet pool).

It was wonderful! ::yes::

Hi! I have room reports from OKW and Rm#4312 is a 2 BR, first floor, close to bus stop, and close to pool, they said. I don't know if it's non-smoking.

There are lots of buildings that would fill that kind of request. We have never had a bad one at OKW. I would make your requests just as you have here. The less specific, the better. Don't be real sure you want lower level though. Some of the first floor 2 bedroom units have a GV above them, and the GV has hardwood floors which makes them noisy in the unit below. If you MUST have lower level for medical reasons, be sure to state that in your request. Same for non-smoking. Most buildings at OKW are non-smoking anyway.

Count us as another who really likes the buildings at 56, 55, and 54. I left off 53 because that is a GV building.

Thanks for the responses everyone. Seems like there are a lot of options. Maybe I should ask the question a different way-- any buildings you wouldn't recommend? (Got the note about the GV buildings!) Thanks again!!

If you will have anyone staying in the livng room and sleeping on the pull out, you will want any building 30 and above, because they have the extra door into the bathroom from the laundry. Those under 30 do not, so anyone staying in the LR, has to walk through the master to get to the bathroom.

Well there's close and then there's close -- Just trying to save some steps if possible. With a one year old, a pregnant me, and two older parents along for the ride, every step counts! ;)

We like the Turtle Pond pool area because it's the largest quiest pool and there's a snack bar (also a small playground). It's the middle stop on the bus, so never too much time riding around when coming or going.

Bldg 43 is 1 minute to the pool and 2 minutes to the bus stop. Bldg 37 is about 3 minutes to the pool and 2 minutes to the bus stop. We've thoroughly enjoyed both buildings. They're both on a small lake (the actual view depends on which end of the building you're on -- Bldg 37 only has a water view if you're on the end closest to Bldg 36), and the buildings are designed so no one is walking by your balcony.

We request a room near the Turtle Pond pool, because we prefer to be closer to the pool than the buildings on Old Turtle Pond Road. Any of the buildings on the inside loops of Turtle Pond area are probably no more than 4 minutes to the pool or bus (and, believe me, we're not racing around and walking fast when we get relaxed and mellow at OKW!).

Hope you and the family have a great trip!
