Oktoberfest for Hukuna Matata!!!

Hi guys.

I've been telling y'all about how enexpensive it is to stay at Gatlinburg Tn during the off season. We are staying here the 2nd week of Dec:

http://www.thebearskinlodge.com/

This resort is very cool and $70 a night. That includes a 2 person hot tub in each room, fireplace and free breakfast. This is where we do our final LSDs for the marathon, before taper.

We did 8 hilly miles in Nashville this morning, we combined getting the "Special" oil in the VW changed, special oil change is $80, and a walk while we were waiting.

Sounds like everyone is doing good except for some healing. Lots of best thoughts and shaking a pixey over all our walking wounded.

Hey Everybody!

Vicki, no rush on the mail. I just wanted you to get credit for all that you do! And let me be the next one to say:

Happy Birthday!!!

Congratulations! Jennifer! Knock 'em dead, kid! And get well soon! You know the rule of thumb about sickness and injury, don't you? If it hurts above the neck, go run. If it hurts below, rest!

Sue! I hate Pilates, but darn it, it works. And the plank.....:scared1: I tried doing it just BEFORE I knew about rotator cuffs! I bet I am scared of them for the rest of my life!

Bragging Panda!
It's bad enough I am not going to ToT or marathon weekend, but now you got to go and make me feel bad about Gatlinburg, too! :snooty:

Scott and Linda I'm with Margie! Love your communication!!!

Margie Dear friend...more prayers and PD.

Connie Darlin, you are invited to come along if ya wanna.

Did you see where I have a new yahoo message address? I forgot the password to the old one and can't remember your address, so I just started a new one. When I had to wipe my hard drive clean to get rid of that virus I lost it.

Praying for safe travels to the hospital tomorrow, Connie & DH!

Some people really have a tough life but the :hippie: is not one of them even with an $80 oil change! :lmao:

It's the clean living and the happy thoughts darlin. We can have up to 3 in the room for the same price so come on down sometime and we will make a country gal out of you. You will go home saying things like "Y'all".:rolleyes1

Good evening,

I am now in a maintenance mode since I only have one fun run on december 6 which is the Santa Shuffle in Montréal. So for the fall and winter season I want to increase my endurance. I intend to run 4 times a week with a tempo run once a week. And next year I want to do at least one half-marathon.
Eva: I do 9 hours shift and work mostly evening (15:00 to 24:30). I like it because I do my run in the morning. When I work day shift, I find it difficult to run before supper. And when I work the graveyard shift, I will run in the afternoon after a couple hours of sleep. And all this means more days off and overtime when needed to buy running things or to plan a trip down south.
Vicky: Happy birthday

:cake: Happy 57th Birthday, Dave!

Good Morning Team!

Hope you had a good birthday yesterday Vicki!

Dave - Happy Birthday!

Jennifer - Congrats on the advancement in job process!

Scott and I do communicate in strange ways sometimes! This is not the first time we have used the boards!

I spent all morning waiting for carpet installers - they were supposed to show up between 8and10am, but they got lost, and finally called for directions around 10:45 - they were about 60 miles away!!!! They finally left at 12:30, but the carpet looks good. I then just started my projects, and the only walk I got in was a quick loop around the block (1.26 miles) with the dogs just before dinner. Will try to get out today for a longer walk!!!!

Basement is looking good! We might be almost done after the weekend when Scott will be home to finish up the trim. I will hopefully have all the doors stained by then. Then we get to "move in", trying to empty all the boxes that have been stored in the downstairs bedroom!

Cold here this morning - the bird bath was frozen this morning! Snow is forecast for Saturday!

Have a great day everyone!

Lynn I did my blog entry yesterday about waiting on appointments. We dropped our car off at the dealership and took an 8 mile walk while we were waiting.

Margie thanks for being so sweet.

Yep a new year and a new beginning, I have come a long away since I turned 50, a lot of it seems like a dream. From fat out of shape smoker to a Panda.

Connie, hope everything goes well.

Have an awesome day everyone.

Happy Panda:hippie:

Just have time to say Happy B-day Dave!!!!!

Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone! My sister bought me some running stuff for the winter - hats and gloves :) It seems like I'll have to go and get a whole new wardrobe to go running in the winter - tights, jacket, long sleeved shirts. I wish we could have fall weather all year round!

Dave - Happy Birthday!! Hope you're having a fantastic day :)

Jen - Congrats!!!

Margie - Hope the ankle is doing better today!

Connie - I found the spreadsheet link so I'll figure out what I'm missing and send you a PM!

Lynn - Hope the carpet installers eventually made it to you. No fun waiting at home while there are things that need to get done.

Have a great day everyone!

Yes Vicky Happy B Day

Jenn Way to go,

Wow, happy Birthday everyone! Have some cake - you deserve it!

here's a cake made to look like running shoes! Now that would be a fun thing to have at a WISH meet! Wonder if it tastes good?

No walking at the moment, Mark is off to visit his mom while I finish the quilt top to bring to bee tomorrow. If I'm successful and it's not too late, we'll go out for a quick tour when he returns.

So, for me to get anything done, I'll sign of for now.

Take care team!

Denise - I saw the picture before I read your message and I thought you were posting pictures of your new shoes!

Thanks everyone for the congratulations!

Happy Birthday, Dave!

Denise, That is one amazing cake!

Three miles for me in 26:30. Not too shabby. Glad to be in taper week!

Jennifer

Wednesday, October 8th - Remember Connie & Jon today ... Jon has his back surgery scheduled for noon. :grouphug:

Denise, Cute-Realistic-Looking-Running Shoes Cake! I checked the link - Wedding Cake that took 6.5 hours. I wonder what she used to bake it in?

Ankle is better, still pain, swelling is way down but still looks like a Clydesdale Foot! Not able to get out and walk. 10 more sleeps until Detroit. :goodvibes

PM'd our Time & Miles, Connie -

Vicky I thought the same thing about the cake pic,

Def think about Connie and Jon.

Just in from a 5K felt good, last day here, maybe, will be good to be home this weekend. It has been fun but really ready to get home, basement might just get done this weekend. Then as Lynn says moving in time. A room of boxes and art to hang up, who knows what we will find.

Have a great day kids,

Good Morning Team!

pixiedust: to Connie and Jon for his surgery today!

Margie - take care of that ankle!

Great cake!

Dave - Hope you had a great birthday!

Carpet installers finally left about 12:30 yesterday - but I did get out for a 6 mile walk with the dogs, did a decent pace for me about 15:30. Today I am planning a 3 mile walk, then some furniture is supposed to show up between 11am and 1pm. I can work on cleaning house while waiting for them. Then back to painting and staining! I am again having a hard time getting motivated to go outside! It is alot warmer than yesterday - 54 degrees this morning and no ice on the bird bath! I will see if a cup of coffee motivates me more!

Have a great day everyone!

Morning everyone! I went to see my PT for my weekly training session yesterday. Didn't have as good a workout as I had hoped for because I still have some pain in my left foot. There was lots of poking and squeezing but my PT couldn't figure it out either. He says I'm still okay to run so that was good news for me.

Dave - Some days I still feel like I'm 7 :lmao: Wouldn't have guess your age though...

Connie/Jon - pixiedust:

Margie - Glad to hear your ankle is doing better today! Hope you're able to walk on your foot soon.

Lynn - Sounds like you have a busy day ahead of you!

Take care everyone!
