We drove from OKC to WDW in November. We had two cars, 12 people and drove thru the night. The getting there wasn't too bad but the drive home seem to take forever. 1400 miles one way.

Just my family has driven that trip too many times to count and we usually leave very early from OKC and try to get all the way to Penesecola the first day so that the next day is much shorter.

We love to fly, but the cost difference stops us most of the time. And we really like having our car available to us also because we mostly stay off-site.

I'm always on the look out for airline deals. There is supposed to be a new straight thru flight from OKC to Orlando Sanford Airport with Trans Meridian starting February 11 on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Good Luck!

but we have driven it 3 times. We have 6 in our family, so the savings over flying is ALOT!! Plus, it is so much easier to have our own car, even when staying on site. We drive a 2002 suburban, and the gas is about 350-400$$. Not too bad for that size of a car that is loaded down. Plus , we go to the outlet malls for our souvieners, which saves us ALOT!! It is a long drive, but we try to do the major part of it on the 1st day by leaving at about 3 a.m. and driving till about 6 p.m. Have fun!:earsboy:
