..that others have suggested to not miss.

I love cheese, but am not one to eat much of it 'plain.' However, I love spreads and dips!

Does it include crackers? Also, are any cheeses like a 'cheese ball'? (I love cheese ball spread on Ritz crackers!)

Thanks!

We ordered it on our last cruise during Thanksgiving and there wasn't a cheese ball. I remember a variety of different types of cheese. I really can't remember if it came with crackers. It was a good snack.

My son ordered every night. It came with crackers, a small "cup" of nuts and a small cluster of grapes. No cheese balls or spreads. It came on a regualr size dinner plate with several small servings of different cheeses.

Got it twice on 2/7 Magic....it was different each time. Different kind of crackers, different cheeses. No ball or spread. Small cluster of grapes each time, small cup of nuts one time.

Each time, 4 or 5 different cheeses, maybe 10 crackers. The kind of cheese varied each time. IT was wonderful....

Is all the food included in the sailing price? Do you pay for room service?

tbell27 - welcome to the DIS! You will find that there is someone here that knows the answer to all of your questions. There is so much information that you will be a knowledgable cruiser when you set sail.

Room service is included in the price of your cruise although we do tip the person delivering.

This past cruise (two weeks back to back) we ordered room service almost every night. It consisted of a Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwich and oatmeal raisin cookies. The cookies are very good.

I have heard so much about this cheese tray from room service, but have yet to hear what makes it a "must have" on the cruise. What makes it so special?

ooooh cheese! I act like Homer Simpson with Doughnuts when Cheese is concerned. LOL I think it's probably my most favorite food. I'll definitely have to order a cheese tray, or two... :teeth:

I guess if you were to think about it - its not that special. Its just that at home I don't usually have several different kinds of cheeses (all good none of them taste like a processed kind of thing) Nice quality crackers. I dish of nuts (mine were mostly walnuts I think) and a nice bunch of grapes all together without having to prepare it for myself!

I'll agree with Clarabelle...the fact that someone else is getting all of it together is wonderful. Be aware though, even if you order for one there is quite a bit of food on the plate...easily a meal or a pre-dinner snack for 3-4 people.

Do we include the tip on disembarkation day? How does one tip room service, and how does one figure the amount?

Thanks!:D

You usually tip when the bring it to you. I'd say $1 to $2 depending on how much you order. I plan on bringing about $30 or $40 in singles, just to have on hand.

Wow! You guys must have had a different cheese plate than me. I adore cheese, so I ordered it one night. My plate consisted of two triangles of cheddar, two of swiss and one bonbell cheese with a few crackers. No grapes or nuts. I never ordered it again, so I don't know if this was an anomoly.

Queen Trident...I was surprised at the differences between my 2 cheese tray orders. The first was excellent, the second basically average.

Still, even at average, it was a nice late afternoon snack for those of us with late dinner.

I had wedges of 3-4 types of cheese, plus a little edam in wax...and some brie with crackers, grapes and nuts in the first. Maybe 2 types plus edam in the second, no nuts, fewer grapes, and icky crackers.

Does it cost to order the cheese tray?

No it doesn't cost anything except when you tip the person bringing it. There is no cash exchanged on the ship........you just sign the slip when they deliver the room service and add a "tip"amount on it.

Every night before bedtime then let it turn to fat while I slept. YUM! When I had it, it came with about 5 or 6 different cheeses and I believe one was a wedge and one was a spread. It came with fruit but I don't remember nuts. I can't wait to try it again. I LOVE cheese!

So you can't hand them the CASH tip and write cash tip on the slip? That has to be charged to your room too?
