Alright, all of the sudden, my CD burner stopped working.

I always burn in my Real Player and now I get an error message to change the write speed, or add the 2 second interval between tracks.

I tried burning in Roxio, and got a more specific message:
Power Calibration Area Error-Track WRiter Error-Command Entry Failed

Anyone know what I need to do to fix this? Or do I need a new CD burner???
Also, if you could use small words, too....that would be great!! ;)

Are you serious??? Nobody here knows what this means???

PPPPPPLLLLEEEAAAASSEEE????? :love2:

Either you have some bad media or your lens is dirty.

ooooooor

Your drive could be failing.

Thanks Chad...I knew I could count on you for some ideas... :love2:

It was what I was thinking. I am going tomorrow to get a lens cleaner, then if that does not work, look into a new drive.

The two things I would try in this case would be blowing out the interior of the drive with compressed "air," and then the lens cleaner. Dust on the lens is the most likely cause of intermittent problems. Also, try a different brand of writeable CD; sometimes that can be an issue. If that doesn't resolve the problem, look at it as an opportunity to upgrade to a DVD burner!

Thats funny!! I bought a lens cleaner, ran it through and it still didn't work.

I went to Circuit City to buy a new drive, and the kid talked me into having their tech support install it too. $145.00 later, I too have a DVD burner!

Works great, so I'm a happy camper!!

No.....the drive was $80, install was $50. Really? Overpriced? I didn't know how to do it? Why didn't you offer to come and take care of it for me??? :goodvibes
