Okay, still trying to pick a date..

Totally struggling here with picking a date. At first we thought September, but I'm skeeved at the thought of those love bugs.

Then we thought November, but I hear it's a busy time of year with all the vacations.

So, now we're thinking December for the same reasons I picked to vacation there this year. Less crowds, milder weather, festive time of year, etc. We're going December 10th - 16th.

Is December a busy time of year for weddings? We're planning an Escape Wedding. Maybe around the second week of December in 2008? I think the only thing -really- holding us back is that we won't be guarenteed that it'll be warm enough for swimming, water parks, etc.

If you had a wedding in December, how was it?

November isn't really taht busy as long as you don't go around Thanksgiving. That's the only time I've been to Disney in November and it's been busy. Most schools that take a fall break seperate from Thanksgiving take it in October, so if you want November I say go for it. December weather can be fickle. It can be mild or it can be cold or it can be cold and rainy. Now if you're from NJ (I was born there but have been in the south for almost 20 years) it's not gonna be cold like you think it is but it definitely won't be waterpark weather. I've been there plenty the first half of November and say that during the week it's pretty quiet and the weather is usually nice but that's just me. Although if you're worried about lovebugs but want Spetember shoot for the end of the month. They're usually gone by then. December though I can tell you we've gone in t-shirts and shorts and other years we have been bundled up cause it's been in the 30s. The weather is REALLY fickle then so keep that in mind and good luck!

Besides love bugs, isn't September, like, peak hurricane season in Florida? I was planning a trip to WDW the last week in November and first week of December but had to move it to Feb so we could get married. But I would switch it back in a heartbeat if I could b/c everything I've heard about early December is great - no crowds, great weather, and all the Christmas decorations are up. From what I've heard, October and November are the most popular months for weddings at WDW, with December fairly popular. But I don't think it would be impossible to get your date if that's when you wanted to go. Give it a shot!

theantibride I guess I was nervous about November because of all the holidays NJ has, but I'm not sure if that's true anywhere else in the country. For example, the school I work for has off November 6th, 8th, and the 9th for Teacher's Convention and then off again on the 22nd and 23rd for Thanksgiving break. Maybe NJ is the only one that has off the second week?

lurkyloo Exactly what I'm concerned about! The fickle weather in December has me nervous. I'm not too concerned about it for a vacation, but I kind of want nice weather for the Disneymoon so we could do water activities. Thanks!

I'm a Jersey girl, too! I think early December would be a perfect time to go with all the beautiful decorations. I was there last January, and we were lucky enough to have weather in the 80s. When I was planning the trip, I was assured that the pools are set at a warm temp. I just got an email from Disney Vacations and I think they are running specials until Dec. 23rd, so maybe you could take advantage of that, too!

Here in the southeast most schools only have a break in November for Thanksgiving. They have teacher conferences but they're usually scattered throughout the semester -- not all grouped into one weekend. And all the colleges usually have their fall break in October. As for hurricanes all summer long is peak season. November is peak season for weddings though meaning higher minimums if you're having a wishes wedding. According tot he info from Disney here's the wedding seasons:
Premium: October/November/May/June
Regular: March/April/July/December
Low: January/February/August/September
