Okay so...

Do what you want, but I don't have a good opinion on homeschooling, based on past experiences with it.

That sounds great! I am glad you can do the trip as well. Just a small question, how are you already accepted into Berkley? Are you a senior then? Sorry if this sounds stupid, I just got a little confused!

Thats awesome!!!!:) I was never homeschooled but I might be next year,Im still deciding..Im worried I wont be accepted into a college,I wont pass the FCATS and I'll lose my friends.:(

I gotta do some more researching.:)

Do you mind me asking your thoughts and opinions on homeschooling? I've practically heard all the negative comments about it. :) But please, if you don't mind, I'd like to hear your thoughts and opinions. :)

Well, if it's what's best for you, congratulations! Personally, after sixteen years of homeschooling I'm not at all happy with it anymore, but that's just my experience. :sad2: Be very sure to find a good homeschool group.

Glad that you'll still have time for socializing, though. ^^

Early accepted into Berkely, because as Britt said, I'm smartical!

Okay so the program I am in is...James Madison High School Online. I have 16 classes to complete, the first set of classes are on there way. They'll be here in 7-10 days :p I can work at my own pace, which is fast, and get things done. I will most likely have everything done by next year at this time.

Yes Shelby, could you please explain your negative views on homeschooling?

That sounds like fun Jenny!
So I believe someone else already mentionedthis but how exactly are you already accepted to Berkely, because I'm nto posiitive, but I beleive your only about 15.
I have never been homeschooled, but if I was I would never get anything done. It would be nice though!

I am 16. And I was early accepted. Long story Lauren LOL...

In 7-10 days the stuff will come, my mom has already paid for it. Tomorrow is my last day at Chaffin (my school) and I am gonna dance in the halls...But my mom gave me some rules...

I have to start working at 8:30
Lunch 11:45-12:30
Done working at 3:15

The TV is not to be turned on :p
The computer is only to be turned on if needed :p
And I must do 3o minutes of Excercise in the gym everyday. Plus every other Saturday I will go to the Library and get two books to read.
Plus is she sees me slacking off a lot she will send me back to Public School :)

And the best part is 2 days a week I am required by her to go volunteer at her office. Which I absolutely love, I want to work there when I get older.

AWESOME!!!!
i'd love to be home-schooled.
my parents are bright enough and they wouldnt trust me to do the interenet ones.
it would be safer and i'd probably learn more thn at my school though

i wanna be home-schooled:sad1: :sad1: :sad1:

i love my school. it's challenging, and there are cool people there. i mean, yeah some people piss me off. but i think that you have to learn how to deal with people at a young age, so then you won't become like a loner when your older.

and i agree with jam, i think i'd drive myself crazy wanting to talk to myself all the time.

that sounds fair! :) i start when i feel like it........between 9 and 11:30. i eat when i wanna, take breaks when i wanna. but my mom trusts me to get my school done and i can get 5 lessons done in about an hour and a half so yeah. :goodvibes but congrats jenny! hope you like it! :teacher:

Okay so here's the update. It is 11:39 and I am no longer enrolled at Chaffin Junior High! My mom finished the paperwork and got it approved faster than I thought possible. So at lunch she came and picked me up. I danced in the parking lot :p She says I can have a "vacation" until my books get in! I can't freakin believe everything happened sooo fast! I never would have guessed LOL...I am ridiculously happy.

And also I just wanted to make sure you all knew that the immature people aren't the big reason I am being homeschooled. I can get a riciculous amount of stuff done, we estimate I will probably get my High School Diploma by this time next year. That way I can start college prep classes at the local University. And I can get a job. Nothing can hold me back now! So this is the real reason I left public school.

And don't worry, I am FAR from being a loner. I've ALWAYS been more comfortable around adults and this way I also will get more used to my mom's office and will be ready to work there when I get outta Berkely.

I'm so excited I couldn't wait to get home and tell you guys about it!

Lets whip out the ol' banana

When I was in Kindergarten, I didn't talk. I don't know why, but I just didn't. I was incredibly shy.
When I was in 1st grade, I was still introverted.
In 2nd grade, I made up for all the lost time. I nearly failed. I left second grade not being able to add 10+10 or read out loud.

Mom homeschooled me.

I caught up, and then some. I could do sixth grade level math, I read shakespeare.

But I spent a year alone. Just me and my mom. All day. I lost the ability to learn to deal with people in my age group. I could communicate with adults, not children, even though I was still just a child. It made making friends very very hard.

I'm okay with it now, but I still associate better with adults than people my own age.

I know that I was young when this happened, and Jenny isn't the same age, but I'm soured on homeschooling from my experience.

Oh, ok. And I respect that. To tell you all the truth, I am terrified meeting new people. Especially kids! I feel more open to adults. I dont know why. I just find them easier to talk to. Sorry you had a bad experience Shelby.

Oh, its fine. but I would never recommend homeschooling to a young child.
