I have a 16 y/o daughter who is just NOT excited about our trip next month. (I know, I know, she SO doesn't get it from me!!!) I am trying to think of some things we could do while we are there that might bring her around.

We went last year for her first time (although we have been to DL) and although it was fun, she was not at all hyped to hear that we were going again this year. Her brothers are 10 and 8 so, needless to say, what is fun for her is not the same as what is fun for them! In fact, the thing she is most excited about is shopping at the outlets on our way to the Seattle airport! :confused3 Her favorite thing last year was the Aqua Seas Tour. So tell me, what do all of YOU guys love to do at WDW? I suggested the GF tea, she wasn't too interested, I think she is mildly interested in doing pick a pearl.

Help!

I suggest going to the House of Blues, if she is into music. the food there is great, and next door they have an all-ages club where they play concerts from popular bands,(not all the time, they have a schedule somewhere).

I suggest Downtown Disney. Ler her go shopping by herself [if you trust her and allow her to do this].

I'm 15 and LOVE disney world. But when I'm having a bad time on my trip, DTD and Pleasure Island shops make me happy and back to that magical mood.

Maybe take her on a shopping spree in DTD. There are other stores other than Disney stuff, like a huuuge music store
Maybe let her decide what to do at a park for a day (you can let your other kids do the same on different days). That way she'll get one day of doing rides and shows that she wants to do.
And maybe let her take one of those tours again this year.
Mini golf is always fun, same with the pools and water parks.
Maybe see if she's into Cirque and maybe do a mother-daughter thing?

Your best bet is to sit her down and ask her what she wants from this trip and do a few of those things.

World Showcase in EPCOT is an amazing place to shop! I could spend hours in just one country.

you know what
you should send here on here and make her a thread about her not wanting to go to disney

and we'll convince her to love disney more than she loves being surly

Bring a friend. If it is at anyway possible, bring a friend. I've never had as much fun at WDW than when I went with my BFF.

Other than that, shopping. Give her a phone and some money, tell her "Okay we meet at ABC at XYZ o'clock" and let her go.

I say let her do some alone stuff.

Or with a friend if thats possible.

Epcot is AMAZING, i wasnt into disney at ALL 2 years ago, now im hooked.
:)

As mentioned, shipping in DTD and World Showcase are GREAT!! (i could spend HOURS in the China store in WS!!!)
Picking a Pearl is really cool too!!--it gets addicting! lol
Maybe let her have some input in picking restaurants, print off some menus for her to read and see which ones appeal to her.
There's lots to do in DTD for sure, fun stuff for teens.

Sonya mentioned bringing a friend, if that's at all possible, it might make her a bit more excited, but if not, try and get her involved in the planning as much as possible. And did I mention.....shoppinggggg!!!!

We probably could have some success in doing that!

To help the trip:
Let her pick a park or let her go to rides she wants.
SHOPPING!!- DTD and Epcot were awesome for shopping.
Pick a pearl is really cool-I did it and loved it.
Have her help with planning- I was involved with planning and it made the trip even cooler.

Oh, SKITTLES!!

My recommendation would be (even though I know you have sort of declared this thread closed) to watch her favorite childhood (or current) Disney movies at random times. Don't tell her that the movie is on. When she comes out into the living room she will see that the movie is on. Without knowing it, she will sit down. Next thing you know, at 10:00 at night when she has gone through four Disney Movies and is totally psyched about the trip xD.

I love mind-games :p....
