Okay so I don't want to come off as cheap (tacky cheap) but...

What is the cheapest I can reasonably expect to do WDW Feb 27-March 4th?

Without being "that guest" you know the one that doesn't tip and steals the bedsheets.

If you could find a group going at that time, you could do YES tickets. They are deeply discounted tickets in exchange for your child going to an educational class at Disney. You can get 7 day hoppers there for less than $200. Otherwise, Undercover Tourist is your best bet for tickets.

Staying offsite is cheaper than onsite. You could get a hotel on Priceline for $30-$40/night or you could get a condo for $500 for the week, depending on what you find more comfortable.

Food/souvenirs are pretty much up to your eating style. We don't do table service meals, although we will eat a few nicer dinners offsite. You can eat cheaper onsite by asking for free ice water. We bring flavor packs to add to the water. That tip alone can save you $3-$4 for each drink you DON'T get. We also bring in some snacks. Sharing meals works for some people; we usually order kids meals instead though. It is enough for us, especially when we are rushing from ride to ride.

With YES tickets, and a condo for the week, me and my son can go for a week at WDW for around $1400.

Basing my ideas on this post:
Two kids ages 3 princess:and 5princess:. Two adults for 5 nights with 4 day base tickets. Trying to stay off site but close and not spend a bundle although the Pop is offering the kids free thing which is like 1,100 before taxes. I was hoping to find a bigger room offsite but still have transportation and not have to pay for parking and resort fees or at least not have to pay so much it stops it from being a "deal" you know?:confused3

(Wow I kinda started babbling there a bit sorry just exited we go in a little over a month LOL)

There are certainly cheaper places to stay offsite but the kids play free offer is going to save you almost $450 on tickets for the kids based on the Mousesavers price at Undecovertourist.com.

Just buying 2 adult and 2 child 5 day tickets will run close to $925. That's without paying for your room. And it is using the same Mousesaver discount on Undercovertourist - which is the cheapest legitimate source of tickets that I know.

So unless you can find an offsite location that runs $35 per night and offers free transportation to and from the airport AND free transportation to and from the parks, I think that you've already found the best price you're going to see for that timeframe.

(OT) Whoa!!! How did you find my post from another post and quote it in this post???:cool2:

I kinda figured that I am trying to be as well budgeted as possible and the play and stay seems to be the best deal but we have only been to WDW one other time last year for the giftcard deal and I don't want to overlook or miss out on another deal. :confused3

There's a room only code that would get you 15% off of a value room for your dates. But once you add in tickets for your family it becomes more expensive for your family than the kids play free offer.

Those are the only public codes that I know of that can be applied to your dates.

You might be able to find a very nice timeshare presentation that gives you a discounted resort stay and a couple of free tickets. But I wouldnt recommend it since you only have 5 nights in orlando and you dont want to spend half a day listening to a high pressure sales pitch.

I agree with Marionette, you already have the best on-site deal. Here are some money saving tips that I've used in the past to help with costs once I'm there:

Use one of the on-line shopping places (Garden Grocer) is one to order snacks, water, breakfast for the room. My family does't eat a big breakfast so we'll have a breakfast bar, piece of fruit, etc. I pack a small collapsible cooler which I keep in the bathtub and ziplock bags for ice. I get milk and yogurt which we keep in the cooler. I bring a small bag with water and some snacks into the park with us. With the ages of your children I'm assuming you'll have a stroller so its easy to carry with you.

I stock up on Disney items at home from the Dollar Store, Target, Disney store clearance, etc. and bring them with me. Each night Tinkerbelle leaves a small gift. This helps to cut out on the souvenirs.

I get a lanyard and some trading pins for each child on ebay so they can trade pins. Much less expensive than in the parks.

Each child has a set dollar amount for souvenirs. As we exit through the gift shops during the week we take pictures of what they think they want. On the last day we shop.

Many counter meals can be shared - they really give you quite a bit of food.

Have a great time!

One trick we did for our first Disney trip back in 2001 was to head to Sam's and pick up a big 18-pack of single-serving cereal boxes, and take a jug of milk. This made for a simple, quick, cheap breakfast in our rooms early in the morning for pennies on the dollar compared to the expense of breakfasts in any of the restaurants.

It let us shift those expenses to the specific meals we DID want to enjoy at a particular restaurant, or other areas of the "travel budget" in general.

There are toasters in the food courts, so you could have your own bread for toast, or bagels, poptarts.

I have been saving peanut butter packets and jelly packets from when we go out to eat. I was just wondering is it going to look tacky going to refill our mugs and making the kids PB&J in the dining area?

I don't know about tacky, but I would get a laugh if I saw someone doing that. Why not just bring a jar of PBJ and bread and make the sandwiches in your room? You can pack sandwiches for the parks as well. I just wouldn't be making them in front of everyone.

Sharing meals or doing kids meals for everyone, along with free ice water, saves us a lot.

No. You will be fine. Most people who stay at the value resorts do it because they like to stretch a dollar. Im sure that you wont be the only one. Besides, chances are good that you will never see those people again. Do you really care what they think?

OTOH, if you open up cans of corn in the magic kingdom to feast on or fill up an empty wonder bread bag with soda in the food court I can guarantee that the whole disney internet community will be discussing it for years to come. :lmao:

A) I don't think it would look "tacky" they provide toasters for their guests!

B) If you feel like it is, why not make them in your room?

C) Disney is so busy, the other families probably won't even give it a second look and if they do :confused3:confused3 who cares :rotfl:!

I once saw an entire family sitting on a bench in the Magic Kingdom, they were all eating hard boiled eggs. Atleast a dozen hard boiled eggs between the 4 of them, nothing else. Now that scenario always comes to mind(and is now an inside family joke)... so your PB and J situation would look just fine to me!

This idea is so clever! I'll use it with my DS4.

Did someone really do that??

Are you flying or driving. if you are driving you can pack (easier) make a store run for some items for your room

On the same note, I always give DS his money, or I at least put it in an envelope in my bag. When its gone, its gone. When its "his" money, he tends to be more selective with what he buys.
