With that $300 that I got from a co-worker for my broken Canon Elph, along with some dough I had squirreled away, I finally gave in and bought the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 that I have been privately (or not so privately) obsessing over.

I had considered the new Nikon 35mm f/1.8, but I have the nifty fifty already and wanted something just a littttttle faster.

I should have it in time for our trip to DC next weekend and with more than enough time to get the hang of it before our trip to The World in December. :thumbsup2

Here's hoping I get a good copy, because if I don't...I probably won't even realize it. :confused3 :rotfl:

Very nice. I know you will like it a lot- probably my favorite (and most missed) DX lens.

Haha! I knew you wouldn't be able to wait!:rotfl: Can't wait to see some pics with it!

Woohoo!! Cant wait to see some pics. I think its supposed to be in the 60s here in the northeast this weekend .. hopefully you will have it in time to get out and take a few shots.

You are really going to love it with your D90. I had it on more than any other lens at Disneyland a couple of weeks ago at night just to walk around and even one day when it was cloudy. I have gotten great results even when it is not wide open. Maybe we can start a 30mm f/1.4 thread.

you got $300 FOR A BROKEN CAMERA....????

Congrats, Ann! I bought that lens for my Canon last year and really like it.

WOW! That didn't take you very long. Congrats on your new lens:thumbsup2

Now after it gets here we just need to see some photos.

Hahahaha! That would be the best deal of the century on my part. My co-worker took my little point and shoot to Italy because his wife had dropped theirs before the trip. Well...she dropped mine too, so to make up for he they paid me for it and since I have another p&s at home already, might as well get a new lens instead, right?? :thumbsup2:cool1:

Nice, you're definitely going to love this lens. Mine gets used much more than my 50.

Congratulations! Can't wait to see some pictures. :)

And you're also supporting the economy :thumbsup2 (at least, that's how I justify it ;))

I'll be sure to say that to DH when he asks me how my one big purchase (being the upgrade to the D90) for the year ended up turning into the D90, plus two new bags, more memory and a new lens...and it's only almost April. :scared:
