Okay, let me in on the joke...What's a Tag Fairy?

I've seen it all over these boards...I'm totally in the dark! What's a Tag Fairy? What are they for, what do they do & do I need one?

Hi,

I guess we've been around these boards for about the same amount of time. Other boards have more references to a tag fairy. You know you've been tagged when you have a little saying under your login name that you haven't put there. So, a tag fairy must be someone who is on the technical side of these boards. I've seen people post things like "clap, clap, clap" to get some attention. Don't know anything else, actually, it's all just my guessing.

One morning you will notice colored sayings under your name, and you will know The Tag Fairy has arrived.
Some ask for tags, others don't. There is just no way to predict what The Tag Fairy will do!

A tag fairy is someone with magical powers who puts colorful sayings (in colorful text) under your name. You can't do this yourself. (I've tried!)

Tag fairies are known to be feisty and jealous just like Tinkerbell, only worse. I assume they must have some redeeming features. I prefer to imagine they must be really cute.

Uh Oh... Comments like that have been known to encite the wrath of the Tag Fairy. I don't have a Tag, but I know enough not to mess with the Tag Fairy. Many before you have tangled with the Tag Fairy, and none have won...

Sandy, Clifton is just fine...But under 8 inches of snow right now. I'd rather be in Florida.

As for the Tag Fairy, I didn't know it was a game or a joke...Just was wondering...

Glad to hear Clifton is fine. The only thing I know about it is Ashley's. LOL! My younger days. Eight inches of snow! Wow! I don't miss that. I'm rather tired of FL myself. After 15 years here, I guess it's not surprising. I'm considering a move to Virginia!!

TF's make it fun. It's pretty neat when you one day notice something you said is there in color. However, don't mess with it once they put something there. The color will be gone forever until they return again. With lots of DISers, sometimes that can take a while!
