Yes, you should go back to school! It's worth it in the long run. Although I'm thinking of dropping out for a while to work again. It's a viscious cycle. I don't mind doing papers. I would much rather do that than read from the book! Reading puts me to sleep, and it takes me forever! Give me research and papers any day.

I would like to go back to school to change my career. Just not sure what I'd rather do instead And not sure if I could juggle a FT job, single parenthood, and school. And I'm 41. Is it worth the cost, time, and effort this late in the game? School is sooooo much more expensive than when I went 20 yrs ago when my parents footed the bill.

I've been to Panthers games here. My xh was there when they won the Stanley Cup (during the rat throwing craze).
I've also seen Wayne Gretzky & LA Kings play in the Great Western Forum, down behind the glass.

I hear you! I'm still searching!! As a single parent, I knew I was in trouble keeping the jobs I normally had. After all, I have a son to send to college!! A few years away, but still. Hard to do that working in clerical positions. I'm also in my 40's. So you just basically need graduate courses?

I talked to someone at FAU and they said to change careers I would need to get a second bachelor's degree which would be about 3 years (going full time I take it). I thought I could just go for my Master's in a different field but that is not the case.

No, I haven't yet. I did when I was single and in school, but not as a single parent. I don't have much of a support network here. Although I've had friends help in the past when I had night meetings at work, I always feel like it's an imposition. It's not like DS can go to his aunt's or grandmother's for the evening. I don't have that. It's either work OR school. I can't do both at the same time. It STINKS!!!!!!!!!!!

The first time I went through school I was single and working two jobs.

The 2nd time, I stepped down from a loan officer to a teller to keep benefits and worked part time (30 hours) for awhile. Ended going on a leave of absence which ended 6 months shy of me graduating. Lived off loans, my nice 401K and cashed in my stock. I did have Brianna the second time before I went back to school so it was much harder the 2nd time, but well worth it!

Nothing interesting going on with me. Still attempting to finish my last paper and prepare for my 3 exams.

Still haven't bought even 1 present yet for X-mas!!! I really must get a move on it or Christmas will have come and gone already!

Can't wait for this week to be finished and over with.

Ok, I'll add some spice to the thread. Was a good girl today, b/c I didn't throw my ex or his nice young fiance into the shark tank today at the aquarium here in town. See I can be nice when I really really try. And trust me it was hard!

A friend of mine gave me this new nice sexy black dress for my upcoming cruise. Also went shopping for myself this weekend and bought a couple of flatterying outfits. I figured I might as well look nice. Promised myself awhile back to get out of my shy shell and go to the single meet on my next cruise. Shall be interesting.

Otherwise, we put up the x-mas dercorations today which DD just loved! Taking the day off tomorow from work to play mommy on DD's fieldtrip at school. I love 3 day weekend, especially when I make them 3 day weekends!

Hope everyone is staying warm, b/c it is COLD outside!
