You know, the people who complain about anything non-DVC. :)

I am here for the week. However, I could not get Sunday at the Boardwalk, so I booked a night's stay at the Carribean Beach Resort.

Never again.

When I checked in (and I was only second in line!), I had to wait about 15 minutes. The people ahead of me were being helped, and there were three other stations with cast members with heads looking down, working on God knows what.

Finally, I get called over.

I get put in building 42, second floor.

Looking at the map, it was 10 million miles away. And the cm told me that I could not take my luggage with me on the Disney buses that come in and out of the property.

I told him I wasn't going to walk my luggage all the way to the room and that I would die before getting half way there.

They had someone from the bell services take me in one of the vans.

Yeesh.

Then, I get into the room and it looked small. I know, I know, I'm used to our villas.

I figure, "I'll make the best of it. I'm only here for the night."

That's when I got into the king size bed.

It looked comfortable.

Did you ever hear, "Looks can be deceiving?"

You're seen those commercials for Disney where three or four children are jumping up and down on a bed?

I think it was filmed in my room!

The bed was awful and it squeaked with every turn I made.

The four pillows were all hard.

I was miserable.

Anyway, that's over. And I vow never again to stay an extra night if I cannot immediately be booked into a DVC unit.

I am now esconced in a one room villa at the Boardwalk and am loving it.

On the second/main floor. Some of the pictures show a view of the front from my veranda.

For some pics today, take a look at http://pics.dvcdisneyandme.com/main.php?g2_itemId=5928

Later...

I know how you feel! DH told me not to ever book us in a value or mod again. I would do so on arrival night to save points or on a weekend. Not anymore. We will either stay at a deluxe or use our points for the weekend but in a smaller unit. There is nothing like our DVC! Have a great trip!:goodvibes

Your "complaints" lost ALL validity right her.

A couple of suggestions.

Pack less? Work out more? Learn distances?

Sorry but "10 Million miles" and "I would die" :confused3 Perhaps acting less like a child and more like an adult would help?

How about

"I showed up looking for things to complain about"

And let's hope you never have to stay at SSR.:rotfl2:

Pretty sure some of the walks at SSR would be closer to 20 million miles? :confused3 :surfweb:

I think we have become Resort snobs as well. It all started when we got upgraded to Yacht Club in 2002 when POFQ was closed for refurb and we got rooms at YC for $109 per night! My BIL liked it so much he insisted we go with them again the next two years with him paying for the rooms:thumbsup2! Did I mention my BIL is an OB/GYN?

Anyhoo, after three stays in YC we went with friends and we stayed at CSR, while our friends stayed at VWL. We went and visited them in their 1 BDR villa and were pretty much blown away. We met with DVC folks on our departure day and bought into DVC.

Same here. We just got back from a week at BCV and stayed at the ASMo resort for our first night to save points. The room was clean but very small. It needed a paint job and the bedspread had holes in it. Oh and there was a funny smell in the bathroom. I did mention it to them at the front desk and she said that they were hoping for a rehab soon.

Resort snob? Yes, count me in. :snooty:

Probably 30 million miles to the end of the Boardwalk hallway. I've heard several people have collapsed and needed revived! ;) :lmao:

I think the complaints are valid if you are a "hotel" style DVC owner. Chances are OP won't be staying at SSR anytime soon since it looks like they own at BWV. As another DVC "snob", I totally get where the OP is coming from, didn't think the complaints were childish, just their reactions.

Well, I wasn't going to mention that those BWV hallways are LONG ;)

Carol, Carol, Carol . . .

Methinks the humor in my post was lost on you.

I was just doing one of those snooty owner posts . . . :) . . . the kind we love to see and poke fun at.

And yes, the miles to walk are just as long at BWV. But, at least, they are indoors and not outdoors. :thumbsup2

And, hey, I was the first to admit, that I am spoiled on our villas. They provide the room and amenities that I like. I'm not a hotel-hanger-outer anymore. I'm a villa kind of guy.

Anyway, back to my vacation.

I am definetly a DVC snob too! However, I do like the POP Century. We always request top floor and farthest room out as to avoid the pitter patter of little feet on their way to character breakfast at far too early an hour. Also, we enjoy POFQ. I love New Orleans and find POFQ very quaint and reminiscent of Louisianna.:wizard:

Father Mike I love your pics & I totally understand where you are coming from! I too am a DVC "snob" & DH just cannot understand why I hate staying in a "regular" hotel room now. Funny thing is that I was the hold out on DVC, but now that we have it I'm spoiled rotten & proud of it! I too would "die" if I had to drag my suitcases all that way & SSR is my home resort & favorite! ;) Great pics!!! :thumbsup2

BTW dallastxcpa...POFQ is my favorite resort second to any DVC. Love them beniegts! :cool1:

I agree...another DVC snob, here...lol:rotfl: We stayed at PORS our first night of our trip 11/21-12/1/2008. And, even the kids thought the room was small. We LOVE  our 2 bedroom at SSR!!:santa:

And everyone knows that the BWV hallways are at least 25 million miles long.

FWIW, I don't mind staying at other resorts ... even Value resorts. And NONE of the WDW beds are very comfortable IMO.

My DH and I LOVE Pop Century and POFQ too! The only DVC we've stayed in so far is BWV and we would be happy staying at these 3 properties all the time so I can't say I'm a DVC snob...

And this could be the reason why... I feel the same way about the beds - the Pop and POFQ beds were nothing to write home about and I was surprised to find that neither was the BWV studio I stayed in - way too soft for me anyway.

While I wont say I'm a DVC snob, I can admit to being a hotel snob in general. I didnt used to be, but working at a luxury property kinda ruined me for anything else. But DVC didnt really help either:rotfl2:

I haven't yet stayed in my DVC home but after the Poly we are all kind of ruined!!! - that's why we bought DVC.
