Sorry I signed on a bit late, but we're on dial-up here and I wanted to make sure my DH had a chance to talk to his children on the phone before I tied up the line all day..

Had a marvelous time last night - will post individual threads on our gifts and such to keep the board "moving" today..

I just popped in the see what's going on while I wait for my kids to get up. I had to get up early to get my turkey in the oven since we're eating early today, and my turkey is HUGE it's going to take forever to cook!

Im here (7 AM PST) and waiting patiently for the other half of the house to wake up. 4 of the 7 of us are awake. The 3 awake kids are downstairs worshiping the tree and gifts. My DH, the 3 year old and 16 year old are still snoring..err I mean sleeping away. Watch this be the one morning the little sleeps in until 10! (Its happened once or twice before).

Hopefully soon everyone will be ready to get a move on!

I won't be on for long - our Christmas breakfast bake is in the oven and almost done.

Then after watching the WDW Christmas parade on ABC, DH and I will get ready and head out to the nursing home to see my Dad's parents who both have Alzhemer's . After that we'll spend the rest of the day at my parents' with her family. It sound be a wonderful day!

Just got the bird in the oven and we've already torn into our presents. We don't leave town until tomorrow so I plan to do nothing but eat and play today.

Thanks for starting this thread. My sons just left for their Dad's house. I've cleaned up the kitchen and now I'm seriously contemplating a nap.

The boys seemed to love their gifts. DS#1 fav was his X-Box (part of their wedding registry!) and a gift certificate for the first night of his honeymoon. DS#2 liked the t-shirt quilt that I made for him and loved the Indiana Jones DVD set.

I got books, candles, Bath and Body stuff and ta da!! A wooden banana holder for the kitchen. DS#2 was especially excited about that one! Now I know why he asked me to buy bananas on Monday night!

Woke up with tears -- tough night last night. Both of my parents are aging quickly and getting very forgetful. Dinner went well, though, but DS#2 had a blow-up after everyone left. Went to church in a very teary state and stayed that way all through the service. Hard to sing with tears in your throat! He was better by the time we got home at 12:30am.

It just upsets me that ex's choices have such an impact on all of us and have changed holidays and family times forever.

Watching the Disney parade, though. My new thought is Disney for Christmas in 2005!!

We don't celebrate Christmas in my house but Hanukkah is still going on so there will still be presents in this house.

I'm going to make the rounds to friends houses later so I will be around pretty much all day.

Hopefully, we are going to see Lord of the Rings at the last show tonight. We tried to go last night but the newspaper listed the wrong times .

Hi Everyone!

Abby(3) and I are here (everyone else is at the Family Gathering). Abby is still running 104 fever and is on the couch not very happy. This is day 5 of the fever. She tested positive for the flu yesterday, but no secondary infections so no antibiotics. She was better yesterday (not great, but under 101 temp) then spiked again last night at about 4:15am.

I don't know how much more a little girl can go through. She did enjoy her presents even with the fever, though.

Happy Holidays! My family gathering has wittled down from 9 to 7 (D bro & fiance sick) to 5 (aunt fell down so she and her husband are not coming), but what can you do? In the meantime, while cooking, I am also shuttling food over to my bro for the holiday.
