Okay, I changed to POP

Well, I did it. Thanks to all the advice. I changed from AS Sports football section to Pop Century, 50s building, water view. There is no extra charge for a view of the lake. Now, I don't know how pretty the lake is but, hey, it beats a parking lot, right? Got the AAA rate which actually is a little bit less than AS Sports. AS Sport I had written down $104 a night with tax and the CM told me Pop it was $102 with tax. Hey, maybe if I keep trying they will keep reducing the price.

Just so you know, you are not guaranteed the 1950s section, or a lake view. It is just a request.

The only thing you are guaranteed is a Standard room. (1950s, 70s, 80s or 90s)

I want to stay at POP next September. Should I book a preferred room, or request a room in the 50's section? Any help would be appreciated.

I personally wouldn't pay the extra from the preferred rooms. All the rooms are very close together, and some of the 50s and 70s rooms are closer to the main building than some of the "preferred" 60s rooms. I would just put in a request if there's a specific decade or room type you want, and just leave the rest up to Disney Magic!!
